Attention Cumberland County Residents! Good news!

⬇️‼️Attention County Citizens‼️⬇️

We have exciting news! Our office is happy to announce that starting tomorrow, July 1st, we will begin issuing Concealed Handgun Permits on plastic cards instead of the card-stock used before. With these scorching temperatures, you can now jump in the pool with your pockets full! No more worries about your permit getting wet. Or you can spill your drink inside your car… You catch our drift!

If you are applying for a first-time or renewal permit, this comes at no additional cost to you other than the standard filing fee. However, if you wish to replace your current permit with this card, there will be a replacement charge of $5.00.

Many of you have inquired about this option over the last several years, and we finally made it happen! Please stop by our office or give us a call (804-492-4442) if you have any questions.

Online classes are no longer legal for obtaining a concealed carry permit in Virginia as of January 1, 2021 (there are no exceptions to this new law). Many of the online courses aren't telling folks, and people are wasting their money taking the courses. Virginia law now requires the courses be done "in person".

So, please, save your money and don't sign up for ANY online classes as they are no longer legal in Virginia, even if they're advertised online as so.

By the new laws enacted in the General Assembly in Virginia, all concealed carry courses must be "in person". Of course, COVID-19 protocols make public courses unfeasible. We will still plan to hold public concealed carry courses once the pandemic has passed us by. In the meantime, we're still offering private courses (in-person) for small groups in compliance with the mandates of the governor.
