Iditarod Trail Invitational The Iditarod Trail Invitational is a bike, run and ski event on the Iditarod Trail and the world's longest winter ultra. The world's longest winter ultra race.

Participants from around the world follows the famous Iditarod Trail on bike, foot or ski for 350 and 1000 miles. The race is limited to 100 entries total. The roots of this race can be traced back to the mid 80's when Iditaski, Iditashoe and Iditabike were first held on the Iditarod Trail which then later was called the Iditasport.

Gavan Hennigan is still out there, moving step by step towards Nome.

No finish line. No fanfare. Just one more mile, and then another.

That’s the thing about the trail: when the race ends, the reasons people are out there do not.

Congratulations to Erick Basset, who became the latest inductee into the ITI 1000 Triple Threat Club. The Triple Threat Club is an elite group of athletes who have conquered the Iditarod Trail Invitational on bike, foot, and ski. Completing all three disciplines is a rare and extraordinary feat, showcasing the ultimate in resilience and adaptability. Great job Erick!!

Gavan traveled all night and arrived in Nulato around 6:30 this morning. After a Gavan-like quick stop like we are used to seeing when he is in his element, he is on the move again, making his way on the last stretch of the Yukon River to Kaltag.
​Bikers Ryan Wanless, Troy Szczurkowski, Mayella Krause, Kendall Park, and Erick Basset arrived in Nulato yesterday during the afternoon and early evening. Not far behind them, Troy Szczurkowski arrived in Kaltag this afternoon and has also set off on the Kaltagng roughly around midnight. Ryan traveled overnight to Kaltag and arrived this morning. In Kaltag, our racers stay at the public school, where posters and signs cheer them on. All four have left Kaltag and are now on their way over the Kaltag portage to the coast, likely stopping at Old Woman cabin later on. Not far behind them, Troy Szczurkowski arrived in Kaltag this afternoon and has also set off on the Kaltag portage.
