I was ecstatic to see my client land this beautiful Snook on a charter this morning here in the Clearwater Beach area. Avid fishermen visiting from Minnesota, we were targeting speckled sea trout when her Snook took the bait, blasted like a rocket, and jumped several times….all the while, not breaking the 15 pound leader with 20 pound main line! I was so proud of her for catching and landing this beautiful fish
With the consistent warmer temps and longer days snook will be the targeted species on many charters coming up!

“He finds Sea Shells by the Sea Shore”. I’ve been fascinated by everything in the ocean since I was 5 years old, always craving to learn, explore and enjoy more of its creatures. Thankful to God for the opportunities to share my passion with others. Today was an island hopping shell hunt where I took them to 3 different islands that boarder the Tampa Bay area. Days like today I’m left speechless , and all I can do is smile and thank God for all his blessings. All the years of hard work, learning, being observant of nature, water conditions, many trials and errors, understanding why fish behave certain ways, catching bait and a multitude of other factors to bring it all together to put my clients on 7 slot Redfish, over 10+ Sootted Seatrout and memories that will last a lifetime for this Dad and son outing.

The Eldridge family from Colorado put on a mangrove snapper smack down out in the Gulf of America today. Mom has never been invited to the boys fishing excursions, so this time she invited herself! 😂 She has never been fishing before, and caught the first several snappers, showing the boys how to do it. Spanish mackerel were around for fresh ceviche, and released several gag grouper, as well as a large shark that Mr. Eldridge hooked up on and released unharmed at the boat for a picture. Fishing is red hot and will only improve as the waters warm up. A beautiful green sea turtle came up to the boat to say hello to my great group of people today. Beautiful day fishing with my charter client from my old home town of Charlotte, NC. Thank you Capt. John for the referral! Wind from the good old north was whipping things up, but I worked hard and put this nice man on some great fish and laughs. lol. It’s always a pleasure sharing with people our beautiful waters and the creatures that live in it.

Philly couple today had an epic day here out of Clearwater beach fishing for Mangrove Snapper, with a few bonus fish including some nice grouper. Eddy landed a stud of a Mangrove at 23”, and his charming girlfriend who had NEVER fished before caught and reeled in several nice mangos and a nice Gag Grouper. I really love what I do, and am blessed to be able to share my love and passion with others.

It might be a bit chilly sometimes here in South West Florida during winter, but our nearshore fishing for large Mangrove Snapper can be incredibly productive! These are likely one of the best tasting fish for the table and equally as fun to catch with there powerful strikes and pulls. Pound per pound the strongest fish out there. www.baileyscharters.com

Flew up to Niagara Falls, NY to go fishing with my son, Ben and to celebrate my birthday with him. I used to fish the Lower Niagara River for over 13 years, and on this trip I hired a couple of the best captains around, Joe Marra, and the legendary Frank Campbell. Every moment will be cherished forever. Ben caught the biggest bass which was over 5 pounds.
