Hello Palm Harbor Canes-Gill 14U Family, the schedule has dropped for the NSA Florida Fastpitch Softball Slugfest on the Beach this weekend at Maderia Beach. Although this is a 3/1 Tournament, the will play 2 seed games on Saturday and 1 see game on Sunday.

UPDATE THURS 9:45 AM: WE HAVE JUST BEEN NOTIFIED BY THE CITY OF MADEIRA BEACH THAT THEY WILL NOT BE CHARGING FOR PARKING DURING THIS WEEKEND’S TOURNAMENT AND YOU WILL BE ABLE TO PARK FREE OF CHARGE AS IN THE PAST.

March has really been an exceptional month for the Palm Harbor 'Canes organization! Both the 12U baseball and softball teams have been on fire, securing victories in their respective tournaments including back-to-back tournament victories for the Palm Harbor Canes 12U Baseball Team.

The Palm Harbor Canes-Gill 14U squad entered the weekend looking to bounce back from an early exit at the last tournament and entered the NSA Swing for the Fences tournament with renewed energy and a complete and healthy lineup.

At the end, the Palm Harbor Canes lost a tough 4-2 battle in the championship game against the Fish Hawk Lake Hawks but the team made some serious sides as a unit.

The girls dedication to practicing and improving has been noticeable in their performance, reflecting their commitment and determination to get better! The increased time being spent on the field over the past couple of weeks has been a GameChanger and a much needed change of pace.

Here are a few of the highlights from this weekend.

The team had a run differential of +21 for the tournament (Scored 37-Surrendered 16)

6 players had a +.400 Batting Average

In 117 total plate appearances, the Canes scored 37 runs on 30 hits.

Peyton Johns and Ella Gill both pitched a shutout game.

The pitching staff faced 108 batters, gave up 16 runs on 18 hits and racked up 40 strikeouts

The Palm Harbor Canes-Gill 14U softball team will be back at it this weekend at the NSA Florida Fastpitch Softball Bownet Bonanza Tournament at Christina Park in Lakeland. Late games on a Saturday in Flo-Rida, games at 5-6:30. and 8PM!

Excited for this weekend's Fastpitch Nation- USSSA March Madness Tournament Miss Sarasota Softball Complex! The Palm Harbor Canes-Gill 14U squad will be playing three games on Saturday followed by a single elimination tournament on Sunday.

What an exciting weekend at the USFA Mardi Gras tournament in Sebring for the Palm Harbor Canes-Gill 14U. Despite being down multiple players, the team was resilient and locked in. Some of the girls had to play different positions but the team was lfocused and didn’t miss a beat.

Here are some highlights from the weekend:

1. The Palm Harbor 'Canes pitching staff had an stellar weekend allowing only 5 hits throughout the entire tournament and racking up an impressive 36 strikeouts. Their batting against average of .075 shows their true dominance on the mound.

2. The 'Canes demonstrated their defensive skills by registering only 5 errors across 5 games. Notably, they had flawless defensive showings in their 9-3 victory against the Bartow Intimidators and in their 9-0 win over the East Pasco Legends.

3. Offensively, the team was clutch with a batting average of .471 with runners in scoring position, showcasing their ability to capitalize on scoring opportunities.

Overall, despite a 2-3 record, each game was competitive and tightly contested, highlighting the team's determination and competitive spirit.

Next up for the Palm Harbor Canes-Gill 14U team is the USSSA (U-Trip) March Madness tournament in Sarasota. Please stay tuned for updates, the schedule is set to be posted on Tuesday evening.

We’re Baaaack!

Sorry about the hiatus Palm Harbor 'Canes family, but things are back up and rolling for the Palm Harbor Canes-Gill 14U softball squad. Now that the “pre-season” is over, it’s time to get down to business and jump into this spring season!

This weekend, the will be battling it out at the United States Fastpitch Association (USFA) Mardi Gras Softball Tournament in Bartow, Fl. The schedule will be dropped on Wednesday and will be posted online shortly after.
