Kathy has been crushing it this year, and since her start in 2020! I remember hearing her say "that bike is my worst thing", and now it's definitely not! She attacks calories on it ๐ฅ๐ฅ She has added in CrossFit, Strongman movements, and nutrition coaching. Her progress has been real and it's only getting better!!! Check out her journey below...
"I have always worked out, being a runner (prior to an injury that stopped that in its tracks) I knew that I needed to lift weights to be โwell roundedโ, but prior to Gardens CrossFit I was never really โin shapeโ. After lockdown last year, the gym I was going to, gave me a weird vibe, so I stared looking someplace else.
My good friend suggested I come check out Gardens with her, because she loved it. After my first class in Rev I was hooked, not only because of the many familiar faces, but because of the family-like atmosphere and of course the workouts.
In September of 2020, my youngest son started CrossFit as a way to keep in shape while he was in soccer downtime, I promised him if he kept it up, I would join him. Fast forward 9 months to present day, I am now doing both CrossFit and Rev and I am working with Kate on my nutrition. I have lost a clothing size and have better stamina and fitness than I could have ever imagined at 50 years old. I can knock out calories superfast on my one time nemesis, the assault bike and can do at least 3 real pushups and recently have figured out how to do double unders! I am looking forward to doing at least 1 unassisted pull-up a rope climb and being able to squat below parallel once my knee is fixed.
Never in my wildest dreams did I ever imagine that at 50, I would be achieving these goals and it is all thanks to the coachโs encouragement and the support and comradery in classes. I look forward to even better things to come in the future."
