Congratulations to the 14 Cameo Range Safety Officer candidates who successfully completed the Action Pistol Group's NRA Range Safety Officer course on Monday, March 30. The full-day course is taught by APG President Scott Martin and includes classroom lecture and range time. Everyone who completed the course is eligible to serve as an RSO at the Cameo Shooting and Education Complex. The volunteer RSOs play a vital role at the CSEC facility and are much appreciated. The Action Pistol Group, in addition to teaching RSO classes, hosts various local matches at Cameo every month and also offers Basic Pistol with Concealed Handgun Permit courses, CHP Renewal classes, Intro to Competitive Shooting, and more. The Koenig/Ruger PRS Championship Match returns to Cameo this year on April 10 through the 12th.

This PRS match is a field-style event using all-natural terrain, and steel animal-shaped targets engaged from practical, realistic shooting positions. The course of fire is spread over approx. 3.5 miles of beautiful Mountains and Valleys. UTV vehicles will be utilized to move through the COF. The tandem match directors of Keith Baker and Doug Koenig take pride in hosting a professional and efficient championship-style match. The course of fire tests and trains disciplines from across law enforcement, military and practical marksman spectrums.

Competitors can expect engagements from 300-1200+ yards at an assortment of steel, reactive and automated moving targets. Target size will vary in difficulty based on the shooter’s position, distance, props used and time allotted. The competition requires approximately 200 rounds plus zero / tune-up ammo to complete the course of fire and is caliber restricted to 300 Win-Mag and below.
