SO… my mom, dad and I had the bicycle shop downtown in Palatka for 17 years. Unfortunately, due to health conditions, lack of sales, people shopping on the Internet, Walmart, etc. we had to close the shop down. 
My idea was to sell something that you couldn’t get on the Internet and you couldn’t get at Walmart, etc. and that’s SERVICE. With all these bikes being purchased online and what not they’re all gonna need service or if you’re an old Putnam Bicycles customer and want a tuneup or brake adjustment or the adjustment you’ll still be able to get that through me, so in the coming months I’m gonna have a service location where I’ll be able to work on your bike for a fee a regular bikes, electric bikes, what not anything with petals, so we looking forward to seeing you. I’ll keep you guys updated on when we’re gonna open and we might even have some used bikes for sale so all right thanks for stopping by and checking us out! See you soon!!!

I’m writing with a heavy heart. After 17 years in business in Palatka Putnam Bicycles is closing. No support or business here. We’ll be open till the end of August. Come in, we’re selling stuff cheap!
We do appreciate all the customers we had a chance to serve and all the wonderful people we had a chance to meet. I’m not exactly giving up. I’m looking for someplace small for service, since you can’t buy that online! I still have Hope!!

Ok, the Electra 3spd restoration is finally done (except I forgot to put the head badge on). Here is the Before & After Pictures. It took about a week and a half to make it look like it does. I hope the customer likes it as much as I do. Lots of elbow grease and time!

There’s the before picture of the bike when the customer brought it in. We talked about getting it nice and pretty again and rideable, but I think I’m going a little too far and maybe over the budget! I hope the customer goes along with what I’m doing…it’s become a restoration project for me now. Just look how it’s coming along!!! This is hours and hours of work!
