It is one of the largest youth soccer leagues in the state of Illinois The Northern Illinois Soccer League (NISL) was founded in 1975, and has since become one of the largest and most competitive Youth Soccer Leagues in the United States. With over 17,000 players on 1,300 teams in more than 120 Chicago Metropolitan communities, the NISL, as a member of US Club Soccer and the US Soccer Federation,
is authorized to carry out registration of Amateur Youth & Senior Clubs and Programs. Our mission is that all soccer related decisions should be made with the player in mind. We are interested in the development of youth soccer, not the politics. Our office staff consists of players and coaches that believe in creating and maintaining a league that is focused on the development of the players at various levels and providing a competitive and equal playing field. We believe the NISL should be governed by simple administrative procedures which provide players, teams and clubs flexibility in the player development process. The NISL will
create, develop, and foster the growth of club and community soccer programs throughout the Chicago Metropolitan Area and surrounding states. The National Premier Leagues (NPL) Division is the top tier of the Northern Illinois Soccer League. The NISL-NPL Division is one of 11 leagues across the United States that are part of the NPL, which has been created to provide a national developmental platform with the highest level of competition in given geographic areas, and to elevate and change the competitive youth soccer landscape based upon fundamental principles in US Club Soccer's 10-year vision.
