Sophomore Matt McBride earned his way into the OHSAA State division two 400m finals tomorrow running a qualifying time of 49.86 in preliminary today. Tomorrow at 2:05 pm in lane 1 number 916 Matt McBride will make Conneaut proud!

Josh Leggett, Hubbard Invitational Meet MVP. Also, Lily Gregory and Tori Shubitowski went 1 & 2 in the Girls 3200M. Outstanding.

The Conneaut Boys team, in a "Quad Meet", defeated Youngstown Christian and Pymatuning Valley, while being edged out by Maplewood, yesterday at Pymatuning Valley High School. The girls team fell to Maplewood and PV while defeating Youngstown Christian.
*Josh Leggett won the 100 meter dash.
*Matt Bateman, Clayton Bennett, and Codi Wick swept Pole Vault.
*Matt McBride won the 400 meter dash.
*The team of Jed Nedeau, TJ Bertolasio, Josh Legget, and Matt McBride won the 4x400 meter relay.
*Emily Martin and Breanna Strader finished 1 and 2 in the shot.
And in the most electrifying race of the day,
Lilly Gregory won the Girls 3200 meter run.

Both Girls and Boys won decisive victories over the East Warriors this evening in Conneaut. The Girls overall was 74-49 while the Boys won 117-15, earning a first place in all 17 events. Emily Martin won shot and disc. Sierra Taylor won the 800m and 1600m. On the Boys side, Jed Nadeau had the day's most entertaining performance with a come from behind victory in the 800m.

Congratulations to the Conneaut Spartans for turning in a much improved performance from last year at the Red Raider Relays hosted by Harvey. The girls finished second in Shot and third in disc with great performances from Sunshine Strader and Emily Martin. The boys finished third in Pole Vault (Bennett/Bateman), third in Long Jump (Leggett, Armeni) and second in Sprint Medley (Singleton, Fedor, Bertolasio, McBride).

Come see the Spartan Track Team tomorrow at Jack Britt Memorial Field in Painesville as we take on top Northeast Ohio competition in the Red Raider Relays. Competition begins at 9:00a.m.
