The Pirates wrapped up their summer season last night by beating Piedra Vista 5-4 and winning the Farmington League CHAMPIONSHIP! 🏆🥇

The team, which included a lot of the returning HS players and a few incoming freshman, went 11-2-1 overall this summer!

This is truly a special group of boys that work hard and play for each other. Can’t wait to see them in action next season!

Congratulations to Taylor Wells for being selected to the All State (Honorable Mention) team! 🏅⚾️

Taylor led the Pirates in almost every major hitting category: batting average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, hits, doubles, and triples. He also only struck out once at the plate all year.

On the mound, he led the team with innings pitched, wins, strikeouts, WHIP, and strike percentage. He also led all 3A Intermountain League pitchers in strikeouts with 62 (13 more than the 2nd place finisher) and tied for most wins at 7.

Congratulations Taylor…keep up the great work!!! 🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️

The Pagosa Springs Varsity Pirates wrapped up a hugely successful season Saturday. After making the playoffs, the 19th ranked Pirates beat the 14th ranked Brush Beetdiggers in the first round 5-4 in 8 innings. This was the first playoff win for Pagosa in at least 20 years!!!

In round 2, they fell to the 3rd ranked Cortez Panthers, ending the Pirates season.

Pagosa finished their season with a 14-11 record, which is the best record since the 2018 season. Congratulations Pirates! Proud of you boys!! 🏴‍☠️⚾️

The varsity Pirates wrapped up their regular season today with a doubleheader against Ignacio. The boys tallied 35 hits across both games, winning in convincing fashion, 15-4 and 15-6.

With these wins, the Pirates finish their regular season at 13-10 and secured themselves a spot in the state playoffs! Now they’ll wait to see where they’ll be playing May 15-16 in a regional tournament.

The Pirates traveled over to Bayfield Saturday for their final 2 district games. Game 1 resulted in a tough 5-4 loss, in part because the umpires incorrectly took a Pagosa run off the scoreboard early in the game. This lit a fire in the boys and they won game 2 is dominate fashion, 16-4.

The varsity Pirates wrap up their regular season Tuesday with away games against Ignacio.
