The desert remembers.
Before the reservoir. Before the silence beneath deep water. Glen Canyon was a living labyrinth of stone, springs, and story.
A new mini-documentary, Glen Canyon Rising, is helping bring those stories back to the surface. Paired with the powerful film What the River Knows, this project reminds us that the Colorado River still carries memory through every bend of canyon wall and desert wind.
Here in the high desert, we celebrate the possibility of Glen Canyon’s renewal; the slow reawakening of landscapes, ecosystems, and histories that have waited patiently beneath the waters of Lake Powell.
The canyon has always known how to rise again.
If you get the chance to see this screening somewhere across the Southwest this March, we highly recommend it. Some stories are meant to be experienced on the big screen.
