This was one of those “temporary” fixes. A quick local look didn’t turn up a tube mount sling stud for my Henry, so I made this to bide the time till I could find one. Well it’s going to stay now and it’s a new offering of mine for your tube fed sling mount needs. All I need is a quick measurement of the space between the tube and barrel and I can have one out to you for your one offs, hard to find parts for gun, or you just want something different. Let me know if it’s something you’re interested in, I’d always be happy to throw one in with a sling order as well.

Happy to show off something new! This Simple Sling is everything you need and nothing more for a carbine or lightweight hunting rifle. Long enough to sling it across your shoulder or back, and just right to use for a sling stabilized position. Made a new headstall and brought some life back into the lacing on this old Partrade Hackamore. The old split ear headstall was well past the point of no return and the lacing on the Hack was stiff and dry. Working on old tack and gear for repair and reconditioning is most always an enjoyable experience, learning more of the trade and getting to check out other makers work.

Today is a day of remembrance, to those who gave everything while in service of others and those who served and have since left us. Our area of North Dakota has a proud tradition of service and the town hosts a well attended memorial service every year on this day. The sound of Taps and a 21 gun salute will always leave a tear in my eye, and the low pass by a P-51D a swelling in my heart. Remember those who have given up so much for us.
