Well unfortunately the leather shop won’t be taking on work for a bit. While working horses last Friday I got thrown and ended up with a broken right wrist. If you have an outstanding order with me I’ll be in contact with you. I’ll keep posting and interacting on here while I heal up in the meantime.

I’ll share the whole project in a few days but I have really been loving the look that this grey coloration takes on with some oil. I take a dauber of black dye and dilute it into about 1/4 cup of water, then use a shearling patch to color the piece. It really takes on a character of its own and I look forward to more orders in the color.

Just some this fine evening with the Old Vaquero. I just can’t get over how well it balances with the steel gripframe in comparison to my Blackhawk. Plus the action has definitely been done up as the hammer comes back ridiculously smooth and the trigger is extra crisp. But I’ll be doing a run of some 44/45 speedstrip sheaths and 2x2x2 pouches in the near future, let me know if you’re interested in some!

My first pair of bunker gear suspenders off the bench. I’ve had interest in these for a couple years now and finally pulled the trigger for a customer to build out my own pattern for them. Made to be rigid in the right spots and flexible where it’s needed, these won’t let you get caught with your pants down.

Though I didn’t attend the HOT day the lecture was a great time with lots of learning. Build Your Culture presented “Realities of Search” a very engaging class by the whole Cadre focused on the data and real examples of rescues made on the fireground. And I saw for the second time “Cruel Intentions” presented by Smooth Bore Cartel , this time I took even more notes and picked more up than the first time. Both classes should be a requirement to take if you’re in the fire service. I’m proud to be able to support such classes for the fire service and I look forward to next year, maybe I’ll finally get to make the HOT classes.

Tomorrow l’ll be heading out to the PFC for a day of learning and brotherhood for the fire service. I’m looking forward to hearing Kyle and BUILD YOUR CULTURE in their lectures and catching up with friends. And there’s gonna be some leather to win and some getting delivered to the customers at the conference. If you don’t have weekend plans yet there’s still time to sign up and join out in Bismarck!

A bit different of a custom strap, a local public safety colleague asked about a radio strap for the Bomb Squad for the K9 E-collar and comms controller. A few modifications to my standard bucket pattern and it was ready to fit. I’m always proud to assist my friends and coworkers with finding solutions to fit their needs.
