This page is about swapping stories with my fellow runners. This page is about sharing ideas on what works, what doesn't work, and what keeps us lacing up day after day. I am a mom to three children ages 15, 14 and 12. I also have two furry children. I have been a runner for over 25 years. My biggest fan is also my husband. I began running at the age of 3. I did not follow through with it till I g
ot to my twenties. It was a stress relief for me while I was in college. I entered 10k's here and 10k's there, but I never went beyond those 6.2 miles. That changed in 2006 when I entered myself into a Full Marathon. I sent in my registration for the Nike Women's Full Marathon and finished in 4:45ish (can't even remember the time). After that, I was hooked. That marathon is special to me because I ran it for my aunt, a Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma survivor. In 2010, I ran the same race again through Team In Training. I also dedicated that race to my aunt. In 2011, I trained for and ran the Philadelphia Marathon. I was injured at mile 10. I ran the remaining 16.2 in pain, but did not quit. I took a year off to heal from a terrible ITB injury and began running again in 2013. I ran 4 half marathons and 2 full marathons in 2013. Each race, I PR'd. My pace got better throughout the year and now I am stronger than ever. In 2014, I ran 5 full marathons and 5 half marathons. I also ran an 18 mile race and a 10 mile race through The Mermaid Series. I was accepted late in 2014 to be an Ambassador for the Mermaid Series. (http://www.mermaidseries.com)
The year 2015 has a lot of promise to it. I will be running 3 full marathons this year in addition to a number of 1/2 marathons and various other distances. I have been accepted to be an Ambassador to the SF Marathon (http://www.thesfmarathon.com). I am thrilled beyond words about this great honor. I have also been accepted to be an Ambassador for SkratchLabs. (http://www.skratchlabs.com)
Thank you for following me and being a part of my journey.
