This spring, Havoc Baseball showed up, put in the work, and let the results speak for themselves. Over 28 games the 12U squad made meaningful strides across every phase of the game — at the plate, on the mound, and in the field. This is a team that competes together, grows together, and represents the Havoc name with pride every time they take the field.
Here is a look at what this team accomplished.....
OFFENSE: Finding a New Gear
The biggest story of the spring was the emergence of real power at the plate. As a team, Havoc increased its home run rate by over 764% compared to the fall — a transformation that speaks to the hours put in during the offseason and the trust the entire lineup placed in the approach. The team finished the spring with a slugging percentage of .539, up from .527, showing that extra-base damage became a consistent part of who Havoc is offensively.
Just as impressive as the power was the improved plate discipline. The team struck out 22% less often per game than it did in the fall — a direct result of better pitch recognition, a more patient approach, and hitters who trusted their preparation. When Havoc put the ball in play, good things happened.
The speed game remained a weapon all spring. The roster combined for 75 stolen bases across the season, putting constant pressure on opposing defenses and creating opportunities through athleticism and smart baserunning.
DEFENSE: Tightening Up
Wins are built on defense, and Havoc got noticeably better at it this spring. The team committed fewer errors per game (-17%) and raised its fielding percentage from .877 to .897 — a meaningful jump that reflected improved focus, better positioning, and a team-wide commitment to the defensive side of the game. Every out matters, and this group started treating it that way.
PITCHING: Innings Logged, Challenges Met
The pitching staff took the ball and competed. Across the season the staff combined for over 113 innings pitched, with multiple arms logging significant time and improving with every outing. Pitching is a long-term development process and this staff embraced it — showing up ready to work, battling through tough situations, and growing as a unit. The grit and competitiveness this group brought to the mound will only get sharper with more experience and time together.
BY THE NUMBERS:
Home Runs per Game: The team went from barely one home run every 10 games to nearly one every single game — a +764% jump that shows real power development across the entire lineup.
Strikeouts per Game (Batting): Havoc batters struck out 22% less often, meaning the team put the ball in play more consistently and gave itself more chances to score.
Stolen Bases: The team swiped 75 bases this spring compared to 48 in the fall — a +56% increase that kept defenses on their heels and turned singles into scoring opportunities.
Errors per Game: Fewer mistakes in the field — down 17% — translating directly into outs that were made instead of runners that were gifted.
Fielding Percentage: Improved from .877 to .897, meaning the team successfully handled nearly 9 out of every 10 defensive chances cleanly.
Slugging Percentage: Up from .527 to .539, reflecting that when Havoc made contact, it hit the ball harder and farther more often.
Per-game rates used where season lengths differ (Fall: 11 games | Spring: 28 games).
KEEP GOING
The numbers are encouraging, but what stands out most is the mentality. This team competed hard, supported each other, and represented Havoc Baseball the right way all spring long. There is more work ahead — there always is — and this group has shown it is willing to put that work in.
The best is still ahead. Let's get it, Havoc.
