On Fridays I have a private with someone on the spectrum who’s highly unregulated. However, if Turbo comes, she gets work done. Turbo is a career changed Guide Student who did Dogs of America for almost two years. In the end, he wanted to be a pet. Now he’s working on his therapy dog certification with Alliance of Therapy Dogs. He has one more observation. In the meantime, he helps teach on Fridays!

18 years ago after only dating Sifu Peter for a year and newly college graduate in an economy that was crashing in 2008, we started a mixed martial arts business. In those 18 years, we have had 10 different locations. Our current location being the longest place we have been in. We have watched kids grow into adults, watch adults thrive, and also faced A LOT of challenges. Lost everything and built everything back up so many times. So much I’ve learned throughout the years. Running a small mom and pop shop isn’t for the weak and a couple of weeks I take more than a couple of days off that’s not a federal holiday! Not an easy task and thankful for everyone that’s supporting us taking this time off. Cheers to 18 years! #805

Sometimes when you want your students to be more aggressive on gi gripping, defense or just overall strategy, you gotta make it fun. Doing activities like these brings out a whole different student. They think differently, work differently and most importantly, have fun. We are serious 90% of the time, but if I can think and create a game to make it MMA relatable and fun, I’m all for it. #805
