Recent regulations by the California Department of Fish & Wildlife have prohibited Kayak anglers like myself from harvesting Groundfish such as Rockfish & Lingcod while fishing inshore less than 300 feet (50 fathoms). These regulations impact kayak anglers greatly. A Non-Motorized Vessel Petition was submitted to the Fish and Game Commission in September, and the Petition was granted consideration. The Fish and Game Commission will discuss the Petition during the meeting on December 14th at 8am, Agenda Item 22. The meeting will be held in San Diego. Public Comments can be made in person, by phone or made online via Zoom, or written comments can be submitted.

The Calicos I caught hade Pipefish in them. Pipefish are the same fish family as Seahorses. Weird but cool.
