🏁 Race Recap | Lee USA Speedway 🏁
Friday night was another solid showing for Reno’s Racing.
The night started off on the right foot with Reed and Nick finishing 1st and 2nd in practice, proving both cars had plenty of speed.
Nick battled a handling issue all night long. Knowing he needed more laps on his tires, he elected to start at the rear in both heat races, the handling never came around the way we had hoped.
Reed also started at the back of his heat race. He had a very fast and comfortable race car but spent most of the race bottled up with nowhere to go.
When it came time for the 50-lap feature, both Reed and Nick rolled off from the back of the field. Nick continued fighting the handling and ultimately parked the car after 25 laps.
Meanwhile, Reed quietly went to work. Lap after lap he picked cars off around the outside, making the most of every restart. On the final restart, he found himself in fifth and charged forward, making the pass for third with just three laps to go.
Then, on the final lap, a caution flew and the field was instructed to race back to the start/finish line. That initially moved Reed into 2nd, but after post-race scoring was finalized, the results were adjusted and he was officially credited with a 3rd-place finish.
While we’d always love to stand one step higher, a podium finish is something this entire team is proud of. A huge thank you goes out to our crew for all of their hard work, our sponsors for believing in us, and our family, friends, and fans for the continued support. We’ll take the speed we had this weekend and keep building toward the next one.
We can’t thank our amazing sponsors enough
