Benton Central Varsity Lady Bison Defeated By Seeger Varsity Patriots

Benton Central Varsity Lady Bison fell to Seeger Varsity Patriots 5-0 on Wednesday at Delphi Community High School.

Seeger Varsity Patriots jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the third inning after Harper Butler induced Lyla Badger to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, Butler induced Vivienne Middleton to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, Sydney Stephen singled, scoring one run, and Zoe Thomas singled, scoring two runs.

Sydney Groves pitched three and two-thirds innings in relief for Benton Central Varsity Lady Bison. The righty gave up two hits and zero runs while, striking out four and walking two. Butler led things off in the circle for Benton Central Varsity Lady Bison. The starter surrendered four hits and five runs (four earned) over two and one-third innings, striking out three and walking three. Thomas led things off in the circle for Seeger Varsity Patriots. The starting pitcher surrendered three hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out eight and walking none.

Izabella Bauer, Chloe Linder, and Madison Minniear each collected one hit for Benton Central Varsity Lady Bison.

Thomas led Seeger Varsity Patriots with two runs batted in from the number eight spot in the lineup. The right-handed hitter went 2-for-3 on the day. Thomas and Aubrey Spear each collected two hits for Seeger Varsity Patriots. Emma Winder paced Seeger Varsity Patriots with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, amassing five walks for the game. Seeger Varsity Patriots were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Lainie Serie had the most chances in the field with nine.

Benton Central is 7-1 against Seeger since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Bison will challenge the Patriots at 5:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Seeger will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Benton Central extended their winning streak to four on Wednesday. The Bison's pitcher stepped up to hand Frontier a 10-0 shutout.

Adalynn Keller was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Izabella Bauer, who went 2-for-3 with one home run.

Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Seeger walked away with it. Everything went their way against the Oracles on Monday as they made off with an 8-1 victory.

Zoe Thomas spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on six hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Emma Winder, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Layla Cavanaugh, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

Seeger's win bumped their record up to 16-11. As for Benton Central, their victory bumped their record up to 14-6.

Everything went Benton Central's way against Seeger in their previous matchup back in April, as Benton Central made off with a 12-6 win. Julianna Sibray Drives 4 Runners Home In Benton Central Junior Varsity Bison Victory Over Rensselaer Central

Julianna Sibray drove in four runs on three hits to lead Benton Central Junior Varsity Bison past Rensselaer Central 15-4 on Friday at Benton Central Jr Sr High School. Julianna Sibray doubled in the first scoring two, tripled in the fourth scoring one, and doubled in the fifth scoring one.

Julianna Sibray, Adalynn Keller, and Harper Butler at the bottom of Benton Central Junior Varsity Bison's lineup combined for seven of the team's 14 hits in their victory. They scored seven runs and drove in nine.

Benton Central Junior Varsity Bison jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Kailyn Martin singled, scoring one run, Julianna Sibray doubled, scoring two runs, Adalynn Keller singled, scoring two runs, and Kalli Schwartz singled, scoring two runs.

Benton Central Junior Varsity Bison extended their early lead with two runs in the top of the third thanks to RBI singles by Carolyne Burke and Leah Strasburger.
