NEDSO’s First Championship Is Complete

Congratulations to the Worcester Wrenchmen for winning the first NEDSO Championship and becoming our inaugural champions.

Final results:

1st place: Worcester Wrenchmen
2nd place: Pioneer Valley Rivermen
3rd place: North Shore Anchors
4th place: South Coast Privateers

This season was about much more than softball. NEDSO brought Deaf and hard-of-hearing athletes from across New England together to proudly represent their home regions, build friendships, compete, and strengthen our community.

Every team and player became part of this journey. We experienced great plays, close games, challenges, laughter, and unforgettable moments. Seeing everyone wearing their team colors and competing for their home showed what NEDSO can become.

What started as an idea has now become a real New England Deaf sports community. Thank you to every player, captain, coach, umpire, volunteer, family member, and supporter who helped make our first season possible.

This is only the beginning. We learned a lot, and we look forward to growing the league, improving the experience, and making NEDSO even stronger next year.

Congratulations again to the Worcester Wrenchmen and thank you to all four teams for making history with us.

NEDSO schedule and standings have been updated.

This Sunday, June 28th, we are back on the field in Bristol, Connecticut for another full day of softball.

The standings are heating up.

Worcester and South Coast are both sitting at 5 and 1 at the top of the Premier Division. Worcester brings a plus 44 run differential, while South Coast comes in riding a 3 game winning streak.

North Shore and Pioneer Valley will look to respond and shake things up in Bristol.

Every game matters now. The playoff race is getting real.

📢 NEDSO Community Update

After speaking with players and reviewing participation numbers, we have decided to postpone the June 7 tournament.

As a regional league, our goal is not simply to hold events, but to create quality experiences that bring together players from across New England. At this time, we do not believe June 7 would provide the level of participation needed to achieve that goal.

We are now working on rescheduling the event for later in July. Because of this adjustment, the Oxford playoff event may also be moved to a later date following the July 11–12 weekend. Additional details will be announced once dates and field availability are finalized.

Our next NEDSO event remains scheduled for Sunday, June 14. We are currently finalizing field arrangements and will announce the official location and details as soon as they are confirmed.

We appreciate everyone’s patience as we continue building something new. Growing a regional Deaf softball league takes time, and every challenge helps us learn, adapt, and improve.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support NEDSO. We remain committed to building a strong, sustainable future for Deaf softball throughout New England.

NEDSO Update:

After reviewing the field rental situation with the City of Peabody, I’ve decided to move on from that option. Unfortunately, for the price being requested, the field setup did not include equipment such as bases, foul lines, or batter’s boxes, which I do not believe is reasonable for a growing community league like ours.

Because of this, the May 31st tournament will now be postponed to June 7th while I actively continue searching for a better field situation for our players and community.

I want to make sure NEDSO is built the right way, organized, fair, and worth the investment for everyone involved.

I’ll continue keeping everyone updated as I work through this process. Thank you all for your patience, support, and belief in what we’re building together

The first chapter of the New England Deaf Softball Organization is officially in motion.

South Coast came out swinging.
Worcester showed grit and power.
Pioneer Valley proved they can survive pressure.
North Shore fought through every inning and never backed down.

Six games.
Four teams.
One league built by the Deaf community.

This is more than softball.
This is identity.
This is pride.
This is New England finally building something of its own.
