Maybe we should put our kids in BJJ….

This study looked at Brazilian Jiu Jitsu's effect on young people. The results are incredible.

Kids did jiu jitsu 1-3x per week, 45 minutes on average, and they increased their self control by double digits compared to their peers.

They showed more inhibitory control - aka, less easily distracted, more focus.

Other studies say the same thing:

One looked at MMA vs BJJ, and the kids who did BJJ had:

• Increased self-control
• Increased pro-social behavior
• Decreased levels of aggression

Another study looked specifically at boys with autism. It found that the social + motor control aspects of martial arts have a huge effect:

The group who did martial arts had a 12.79 LOWER score on problem behaviors than the control group.

In a world that’s constantly trying to distract us, BJJ makes you disciplined.

In a world where kids are increasingly isolated, BJJ puts them together & challenges them physically and mentally.

What a moment!!! 🥈🔥😭

(aka Mr. Rick) just competed at the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation IBJJF Pan Jiu-Jitsu Championship and fought his way ALL the way to the finals… walking away with his FIRST IBJJF medal — and not just any medal… a SILVER at Pans!!! 🇺🇸🥈💪

I’ve watched this man grind, travel all over the country chasing fair matches at his age and skill level, never cutting corners, never backing down… just pure consistency, discipline, and heart ❤️‍🔥✈️🥋

To finally see him get his hand raised and stand on that podium… man, it hits different 😤👏

A true inspiration on AND off the mats. The kind of person who makes everyone around him better 🙌

I have wanted the Black One Roof Trophy since it became a thing for AGF. This trophy signifies that you won the Overall Team Title with one Academy. Not 3-4 grouping up as an association and combining points. We have been extremely grateful to every association we’ve had the privilege of competing with, but to win with just your team is a different feeling. Thank you to all of my students that competed, and especially the ones who showed up and helped them prepare. This trophy is for the entire academy!!!!! Each student got their OWN medals for what they accomplished…… but WE all accomplished this!!!!!

Some people will never fully understand what a good coach really does behind the scenes.

The long hours, the sacrifices, putting everyone else first, carrying the weight so others can grow… it doesn’t always get seen, and it definitely doesn’t always get the credit it deserves.

I’m proud of my coach. Truly.

He cares about his students more than most people will ever realize. Not just on the mats, but in life. He’s built something special—an environment full of good people, hard work, and real support.

And through it all, he’s always been someone who keeps me lifted up when I need it most.
