Donald Johnson Fishing provides professional guided bass fishing on Guntersville Lake in North AL. Lake Guntersville truly is a fisherman’s paradise.

I am blessed to have lived on this beautiful bass fishery my entire life. If you are planning a bass fishing trip on this lake, I encourage you to give me the opportunity to show you an enjoyable fishing experience. Lake Guntersville is well known for producing exceptional bass fishing. I have had the pleasure of seeing many happy anglers catch the biggest bass of their lives. I hope we can do the same! If allowed the privilege of being your Lake Guntersville guide, I will do my best to meet your expectations for the day. I cater to a wide variety of fishermen from around the country. Anglers of all ages and skill levels are welcome! While many customers just want to catch bass and have a good time, I also offer instructional trips regarding seasonal fishing patterns, deep water, specific techniques, and how to interpret sonar. I specialize in Lowrance electronics and use HDS units in my Triton boat powered by Yamaha. Services offered:

* Pre-fishing for upcoming tournaments

Rates:
1-2 People Half Day ( 4 hrs ) $375.00
1-2 People Full Day ( 6 hrs ) $475.00
$100.00 charge for third person
$200.00 charge for a follow boat
$75.00 additional for weekends and holidays

🔥 54 BASS BEFORE THE HEAT! 🎣

These guys from Mississippi flat-out loaded the boat this morning during their short trip on Lake Guntersville!

We picked up one here and one there on the first couple of stops, but when we pulled up to spot number three, it was ON! When it was all said and done, they had landed 54 bass and were already back in the A/C before the heat kicked in.

The fishing on Lake Guntersville is really good right now, and I have a few openings starting next week.

What a fun 3 hours on Lake Guntersville with Mr. Dan and Mr. Sam! These guys put several really nice fish in the boat, and had an absolute blast doing it. We were headed home before the giant oven turned on.

The fish cooperated, the laughs were plentiful, and the time went by way too fast. It was one of those trips that reminds you just how much fun a few hours on Guntersville can be.

Mr. Dan wanted to squeeze in one final trip before I step away for a few weeks for surgery, and Lake Guntersville gave him one awesome morning of fishing. He put 47 bass in the boat in just 4 hours and enjoyed every minute of it.

I couldn’t have asked for a better way to finish out the month. Thank you, Mr. Dan, for making one last trip before I take a short break. I’ll be looking forward to getting back on the water as soon as I’m able.

Waypoint packages will be available through next weekend and then again once I spend some time on the water once I get back out there.

Over the past 12 years, I have been incredibly blessed to spend my days on Lake Guntersville with so many wonderful people. Many of you have become much more than clients. You’ve become friends, and I can never fully express how grateful I am for the trust and support you’ve shown me throughout the years.

Due to my recent cancer diagnosis, I will be taking the month of August away from guiding to focus on recovering from surgery next week. As of now, the plan is to return to the water on September 1, and I’m looking forward to getting back to doing what I love as soon as I’m able.

Cancer is something I never expected to face, but I know I won’t be facing it alone. I would sincerely appreciate your thoughts and prayers during this time. The kindness, encouragement, and support you’ve already shown me have meant more than you’ll ever know, and I’ll always be grateful for each and every one of you.

Thank you for standing by me. I look forward to seeing everyone back on the water soon.

Lake Guntersville wasted no time showing off this morning.

Dr. Johns was on fish from the start, and by 8:30 a.m we had already landed 33 bass. It was one of those mornings where every move seemed to be the right one, and the next bite was never far away.

Thank you, Dr. Johns, for another outstanding trip and for letting me make a few casts. It’s always rewarding to watch a plan come together and see clients enjoy a morning like this.

Early morning on the water turned into a solid one for Mr. Dan.

He managed to put together an awesome morning and finished with 31 measuring bass before 8:00 AM. When conditions line up like that, it makes for a fast-paced and productive start to the day.

Some fishing trips aren’t measured by how many hours you’re on the lake. They’re measured by the memories you take home.

The Garcia family packed plenty into a short trip, landing 28 bass with several really nice fish mixed in. Watching families celebrate each catch never gets old, and this crew gave us plenty to celebrate.

What an incredible morning with this wonderful family!

These annual trips are about so much more than catching fish. They’re about spending time together, making memories, sharing a few laughs, and enjoying everything Lake Guntersville has to offer. This crew did all of that and then some.

This family stayed busy all morning, putting fish in the boat one after another. They landed several really nice bass, and one of the sisters even got to tangle with ole Bug Eyes, making an already memorable trip even more special.

Thank you all for trusting me to be part of your annual tradition. Seeing families come back year after year is something I’ll never take for granted. I know the memories from this morning will last for years to come. I can’t wait until we do it again this fall!
