IBJJF Kansas City Open 2025
15 competitors.
This event is going to stand out in my mind for so many reasons.
From all the excitement and anticipation from the team in the months before.
The 2-A-Days, the private training, the conditioning, the early mornings. All the extra effort that every single competitor put in to prepare.
The discipline and self-respect you all showed preparing for this event sets an example for everyone. Thank you for being a role model that the gym can look up to.
More than a few you laughed when I first brought up the idea of competing, told me they you were intimidated to even step into the gym.
To watch you step out and compete shows an incredible amount of growth in your confidence and courage.
Thank you for being willing to put all of your hard work on display. It was incredible to watch just how much you have evolved.
Thank you to all the teammates, friends and family that spent their Sunday to show support.
Your presence kept the morale high and energy up for the entire event.
It helped show off the thing that I am most proud of building.

And others to lift up.
Sometimes the world seems more divided than ever. This sport brings people together in a way that is unlike anything I’ve ever been apart of.
