We are getting super excited about the upcoming Bad Astra gravel race! This year we are partnering with Ottawa Main Street Association to throw a welcome party on Main Street; Friday night, September 25th. We hope everyone will come down and help us kick off this celebration of cycling in Ottawa. We’ll have some other big race announcements coming soon. Check out our new shirts for Moonrise Bike Ride! Nowadays, a lot of companies are turning to AI-generated designs and having their shirts machine-printed somewhere else. We’ve always done things a little differently.

Our shirts were designed and hand-drawn by Draft Horse Studio, then hand-screen-printed by David Cox at Front Row Sports.

David spent a lot of time mixing the colors to get them just right. He also takes care to apply the ink lightly, keeping the print soft, flexible, and comfortable to wear.

We’ve been doing things this way since we opened in 2018. As a small business, we believe in working with other small businesses and local artists to create something truly special—and these shirts are a great example of that.

If you didn’t pick one up when you registered for the Moonrise Bike Ride, we’ll have a few extras available for purchase at the event!

We're heading north of Centropolis for our September 5 Gravel Group Ride!

We'll roll out from Ottawa Bike and Trail at 9:00 am. The full route is 30.7 miles, with a 20-mile shortcut available for anyone looking for a shorter option. We'll post the shortcut the comments.

Special Gravel Group Ride Saturday!

This Saturday, our Gravel Group Ride is taking a field trip!
Good friend of the shop, Andrea Peace has organized a group ride to support the Paola Roots Festival. The route explores some of her favorite gravel roads surrounding Paola and should be a great opportunity to ride somewhere new.

🚲 Ride Details
Distance: 40 miles
Start Time: 8:00 AM

Meet: Parking lot across from Paola City Hall, 19 E. Peoria St.
Street parking is also available.

🎟 Roots Festival: Entry to the festival is not included with the ride. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the gate or in advance here:

🔒 Bike Parking: Bikes are not allowed inside the Roots Festival, so make sure you have a way to securely lock up your bike if you plan to stick around after the ride.

This is a great chance to explore some new gravel roads, enjoy great company, and take in the sights, sounds, and tastes of the Paola Roots Festival afterward.
