🌳 Prairie Park Phase 1 Update!

Join us at the Parks & Recreation Commission meeting on Tuesday, September 15, at 7:00 PM.

The Commission will review updates and provide recommendations on the Prairie Park Phase 1 design, including:

🏢 Restroom Building – Review proposed facility options
🎪 Picnic/Event Shelter – Review shelter options
🏀 Project Alternates – Consider potential additions such as basketball court resurfacing, pickleball courts, ballfield shade structures, batting cages, shelters, concrete work, and pedestrian lighting
🛝 Destination Playground – Review four playground concepts, with a budget of approximately $1.1 million for equipment, surfacing, shipping, and installation

This is an opportunity to learn more about the plans and share your thoughts before the project moves into final design and consideration by the City Council.

🚧 Temporary Magnolia Trail Closure

A small test well will be drilled along the New Magnolia Trail near the 62nd Street cul-de-sac to study groundwater levels.

📅 Work begins this week (Aug 24) and is expected to continue through mid-September.

During drilling, a portion of Magnolia Trail will be temporarily closed from the 62nd Street cul-de-sac to 60th Street for the safety of residents and workers.

Residents near the work area may experience drilling noise, construction vehicle activity, and minor ground vibration.
