Shame on me!!! I missed Diane Thorsen Merz as a volunteer at Mosquito Run! Diane is a key member of our distance family, one who volunteers at almost every ride! She was there at 5:30am to help vet in riders and she helps manage the vet area and train new volunteers! I am so very sorry Diane! I should know better than to post something when I'm tired without proofing it before hitting post! You are a rock star in our sport!!

Another Mosquito Run is in the books! We had 98 riders over the course of 2 days. Trails were beautiful and the weather cooperated.

Huge thank you to our vets, Dr Bonnie Miller and Dr Allie Delheimer! We had lots of volunteers: Heidi, Michelle, Ken, Theresa, Holly, Bob, Jenny, Piper, Audrey, Ruby, Jacki, Michelle and Elizabeth Miller, and people ready to jump where we needed like Paula G and Paula B! Nice to know there is such a great team of people who are willing to help. If I forgot someone - my apologies and please know your help and support is appreciated!

We had novice riders on both days with a mix of brand new and more experienced riders. The novices all came back to camp with smiles on their faces! Thank you to our Novice leaders, Jenny, Katie, Jessi, and Toni.

I also need to thank my partners who work with me to put on this ride! Sarah Kieser, Sarah Kieser, Joan Elbert, and Sharon Hahn! Special thanks to my husband Greg, along with our granddaughters, Ruby, Piper and Audrey who helped set up in the beginning, made sure the water tanks were full and worked through the heat to tear down at the end. Couldn't do it without all of you!

Reminder for those coming to Mosquito Run for the first time - if you google directions to the Crow Hassen Dog Park it will bring you to the campground. That is the most reliable way to get directions to the campground. The campgound is across the road from the dog park and you will see our ride signs to guide you in!

Mosquito is just around the corner! Come join us for a weekend of fun with your horse! Trails are pretty and barefoot friendly. Registration is easy at MNDRA.com. No reservations needed to camp either.

Are you new to the sport of Distance Riding? Mosquito offers Novice rides on Saturday and Sunday. Novice is a great place to try out the sport.

It's not too early to get registered for Mosquito Run! The Saturday Novice ride is limited to the first 12 registered riders. We have a 50 mile Endurance, a 30 mile LD and Comp on Saturday, with 25 mile events on Sunday as well as another Novice with no limit on the number of riders!

Camping is easy - no reservations needed!

Hey folks - here's the flyer for the 2025 Mosquito Run ride! We made a few changes this year, so read the flyer carefully! We will have Novice on both days, BUT - Saturday is limited to 12 entries so pre-registration is highly recommended. No limit on Novice on Sunday.

Also, the LD/Comp on Saturday will be 30 miles, so there is a chance for extra points there if you are looking. The Sunday Comp/LD rides will be 25 miles.

Of course, we will be having our famous fried chicken at the Saturday pot luck!

Time to start planning your summer rides! Mosquito Run is centrally located near Rogers MN. No camping reservations needed either!

This year we have 50 mile Endurance on Saturday, along with 30 mile LD and Comp rides.

Novice will be offered both days, but Saturday is limited to 12 riders and requires pre-entry. The Sunday Novice does not have a limit.

There will be 10 mile Drives both days!

Be sure to check your points from mosquito run!

Just a friendly reminder from the Board to check, check, double-check, check until your eyes bleed, the ride results - and do it timely (within 30 days).

If you see an issue - let the pointskeeper know asap.

We're all human and mistakes are made, but we can't fix it if we don't know about it. This can be a mistake on the part of the rider, the ride manager, or even a flaw in the points database tally.

Every member should verify they have a "Current Membership Date" that's not blank (if it's blank, you aren't a member).

Every member should be checking results after each ride they attend - asap. Not a few months later when you wonder if you're in the top 8 yet.

When issues come up after 30 days, the UMECRA BoD really agonizes over what should be done. Hence why the Rider Responsibility rules are so lengthy...
