D3 Senior Team for 2025-26.

Every wrestler placed at state. Ten state champs in fourteen seniors. Dundee carries six of them: Mason Haines, Bryan Sterling, Braden Broderick, Blake Cosby, Donny Beaufait, and Rocco Redmon. Dale Gant (Grand Rapids CC), Fred Hammond (LakeVille), Layne Knisely (Bronson), and Mitchell Swift (Delton Kellogg) round out the title group.

Eight state placers in fourteen wrestlers. Dylan Phillips (Laingsburg) leads the group with a state title at 106. Austin Rhodes (Yale) took 3rd at 144. Will Baese (Ovid Elsie) finished 4th at 120. Ogemaw Heights sent two to the list in Apollo Goulette (132) and Gage David (138).

Today we remember all service members who gave their last full measure of devotion to our country for our freedom. For over 45 years , since 1979 individuals on the LakeVille wrestling team have been awarded the Doane Renshaw Award. This award is given to a wrestler who best shows devotion, leadership, and sportsmanship.

Doane L. Renshaw was a member of the LakeVille Class of 1969 and was the district’s very first individual state wrestling medalist, placing third in the state.

He also played football and baseball at LakeVille, earning letters in both of those sports as well. In addition, he played in the high school band and was in the LakeVille senior play.

Renshaw went on to wrestle at Olivet College where he was team captain and a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association individual league champion in 1973.

At Olivet, he majored in biology and began pre-med studies at Wayne State University. He was a member of Adelphic Alpha Pi and the Horatio Q. Butterfield Society.

After graduation from Olivet College, he became a pilot in the U.S. Navy. He was commissioned as an Ensign and flew an S3-A Viking anti-submarine warfare jet and was assigned to the aircraft carrier USS America.

On October 18, 1978 Doane Renshaw was lost at sea as a result of a faulty carrier landing mechanism.

In observance of his contributions to Olivet College athletics and service to his country, he was inducted posthumously into the University of Olivet’s Athletic Hall of Fame. Doane was also inducted posthumously into the LakeVille Hall of Honor.
