1. Smaller Class Sizes: Our smaller class sizes allow students to get more individual instruction from teachers, and as a result progress at a faster level than in a large class environment. Our smaller class sizes also ensure that the teacher can catch any problems before they turn into bad habits or improper techniques.

2. Variety of Dance Styles & Methods: Highly qualified teachers with varied training and teaching methods are available to teach a broad range of dance formats.

3. Our Dance Studio Advantage: The "Floating" Professional Dance Floor Our "Floating" Dance Floor rests on a system of high density foam to absorb the shock and impact of regular dance movement. This benefits students by reducing fatigue and preventing injury that can result from dancing on hard surfaces. The top layer of our flooring surface is a professional vinyl composite "marley" floor similar to the surfaces used by the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, the Royal Academy of Dancing in London, England and shows such as Riverdance. This marley floor surface has a certain amount of controlled slip to allow for sliding in dance movement, but is not slippery like common tiles found in most other dance studios.

4. Kindergarten Dance - for ages 3-5: From the age of 3, children are given a fun introduction to the basics of dance. This program provides a solid foundation for future success in Ballet, Jazz, Tap and other styles.

5. Recitals, The Nutcracker, and Competitions: Students are given performance experience in our year-end recital. Students also have the option to participate in festivals, competitions and The Nutcracker. Our Mission:

🩰💙 It’s more than just dance lessons at Storm.

We are SO thankful for our incredible faculty and the many ways they continue to pour into our dancers both inside and outside the classroom.

Today, Miss Kathy took time to hold a special Pointe Shoe Sewing Lesson, teaching many of our dancers how to properly sew and prepare their own pointe shoes. 🪡🩰

These are the little moments that mean so much — passing down knowledge, building independence, learning responsibility, and sharing traditions that are such a special part of a dancer’s journey.

What a blessing it is to have teachers who don’t just teach steps, but truly mentor, encourage, educate, and invest in our students. 💙

Lindy Donavon is thrilled to continue her journey with Storm Dance Alliance as a member of the faculty! A lifelong dancer and proud Storm alumna, Lindy trained at Storm for nearly a decade, spending eight of those years as a dedicated member of the Pre-Professional company.

Throughout her years of training, Lindy developed a strong and versatile dance foundation while studying extensively in jazz, ballet, lyrical, contemporary, hip hop, tap, acro, and technique. Her time as a competitive dancer allowed her to grow not only as a performer, but also as an artist, teammate, and mentor. She credits the exceptional teachers who guided her throughout her years at Storm with helping shape the dancer and educator she is today.

Now stepping into the role of instructor, Lindy is passionate about giving the next generation of Storm dancers the same encouragement, knowledge, and positive experiences that had such an impact on her own dance journey. She strives to create a classroom environment where every dancer feels supported, challenged, confident, and inspired to grow.

For Lindy, returning to Storm as an educator is especially meaningful. She is incredibly excited to share her love of dance with her students, continue growing as a teacher, and give back to the Storm family and community that played such an important role in shaping the dancer and person she has become.

⚡️💙 WELCOME TO THE STORM FAMILY, KYLIE! 💙⚡️

We are SO excited to welcome Kylie Furlong to the Storm Dance Alliance faculty! Kylie brings an incredible combination of professional training, performance experience, creativity, and a genuine love for teaching young dancers. We can’t wait for our students to learn from her, be inspired by her, and experience the energy she brings into the studio!

Kylie is a Chicago suburbs native, dancer, choreographer, and movement educator. She graduated from Indiana University in 2026 with a BFA in Contemporary Dance, where she trained extensively in contemporary, ballet, modern, house, African Diaspora, Afro-Cuban, tap, improvisation, and composition.

Throughout her training, Kylie has performed works by choreographers including Christa Smutek, Beatrice Capote, Sue Samuels, and Ishmael Konney, while also developing her own choreographic voice through work created for Indiana University and Still Inspired’s Future Artists Festival. She has also worked with companies including SALT and NW Dance Project and is currently a trainee with Visceral Dance Chicago.

Kylie has experience teaching dancers of all ages—from toddlers through adults—and brings energy, encouragement, creativity, and curiosity into every class. She believes dancers should be challenged while still having a space where they can have fun, take risks, build confidence, and feel completely comfortable being themselves. Her goal is to help each dancer grow technically while discovering their own artistic voice and love for movement.

And the excitement goes both ways—Kylie is so happy to be joining the Storm family, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to have her as part of our team! 💙

⚡️💙 WELCOME TO THE STORM, MISS ANDREA! 💙⚡️

We are SO excited to officially welcome Andrea Koenig to the Storm Dance Alliance faculty! 🖤🤍💙

Andrea brings an incredible combination of talent, experience, versatility, and passion for teaching, and we cannot wait for our dancers to learn from her this season!

Andrea has extensive training in contemporary, lyrical, jazz, hip hop, and ballet, including training with renowned ballet masters Homer Hans Bryant and Mme. Peff Modelski. Her dance background also includes pointe, tap, tumbling, musical theater, and Latin styles. As an alumna of Sole Unique Dance Company, Andrea spent years competing throughout the Chicagoland area before going on to professional performance opportunities at the Paramount Theatre and festivals and exhibitions across Illinois.

But what makes us especially excited to have Andrea at Storm is her love for teaching and developing dancers. 💙

Andrea has been teaching dancers ages 6 through adult since 2010 across a wide variety of styles and levels. She has also served as a competitive team coach and award-winning choreographer since 2016!

In addition to her dance training, Andrea is a certified Pilates Mat Instructor through Power Pilates, one of the nation’s leading classical Pilates education institutions. She earned her certification in 2023 and achieved scores that landed her on the Power Pilates 2023 Dean’s List! 👏🏻

Andrea is equally excited to begin this new chapter and become part of the Storm Dance Family, and we feel incredibly fortunate to have her joining us! ⚡️

We can’t wait to see her share her knowledge, creativity, and talents with our dancers and watch the impact she makes inside our classrooms.
