Otters end of the year party is next week!!!

Thursday February 26th, 5:30-7:30pm

Open to our Otters and their household. If a non-Otter plans to swim, please ensure an adult swimmer accompanies them.

Please use the below link to sign up. Otters will be providing Pizza and water. Feel free to bring some desserts to share.

There is a lost and found bin, if you have lost anything during the season, please look there. We will also be passing out our season awards and any medals the Otters have earned this year.
We are very excited to announce that we have had several Otters records broken this year and will be celebrating those accomplishments!!

Sunday the 15th, 18 Otters will travel to Saginaw Valley State University to swim for a spot on the podium. We will be swimming against the best swimmers in the state.

Soak it all in!! You have worked so very hard to get to this point and we are so very proud of you! Say a prayer for safe travels.

Otters showed up with weekend!!! A lot of ribbons, tons on medals, and a LOT of dropped time!!! You continue to make the coaches so proud!!!

This week for Otters:

Only those that have qualified for the state meet will practice.
All ages: 6-7:30
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday

We snuck an extra practice in this week.

ALL OTHER SWIMMERS:
We will see you at the end of the season pool party on the 26th.
We will be posting sign up sheet for numbers, so we know how much pizza to get. Please limit this to those in your household. It’s not an open pool party. This is for our Otter families to get together and celebrate.
We will have a sign up for desserts going up on the 16th, once we get back from the state meet.

NOVICE MEET this Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Standish-Sterling High School.

8:15 a.m. Warm-ups 10 & Under Age Groups
9:00 a.m. Start 10 & Under Age Groups
11:45 a.m. Warm-ups 11 -18 Age Groups
12:30 p.m. Start 11 -18 Age Groups

Swimmers, please arrive 15 minutes before your warm-up time to get your event numbers. We are looking forward to a great meet. See you at the Pool!

Admission: $5.00 admission fee per person; children 5 & under free. All day programs will be available for $3.00.
Concessions: Will be available.

***ATTENTION STATE SWIMMERS- If you have qualified for State (or if you qualify at NOVICE) it is IMPORTANT that you talk to Coach Natalie or Coach Jon at the Novice Meet. The State Meet Events need to be turned in this weekend, so we need to verify your events before the end of the day on Saturday!***

This week for Otters:

The next few weeks of practices will be for those swimmers going to the Novice meet and the State meets. All other swimmers, we will see you at our end of the year party on the 26th.

The Novice meet is on Saturday the 7th in Standish. All meet entries must be completed by Monday night to be eligible to swim.

The State meet is Sunday the 15th at Saginaw Valley State University. Only those swimmers that have qualified are able to attend. A list of those swimmers is on the board on the pool deck.

There will be NO PRACTICE for Thursday January 29th. There is a Varsity home meet.

January 24, 2026

Swimmers please arrive at least 15 minutes before your warmup time to get your numbers and seeding.

Times:
10 and Under- WarmUP 7:30AM/Start 8:15AM
11 and Over- WarmUP 11:45AM/Start 12:30PM

Location: Standish-Sterling High School, 2501 Grove Rd. Standish, MI 48658

Admission: All day admission is $5.00. Admission for children 6-12 is $1.00. Swimmers and children 5 and under are Free.
Heat Sheets: A complete meet program will be available for $3.00.

Another GREAT day in the pool!!!! You kiddos continue to impress the coaches!! Dropping time and fighting in the pool, you continue to work hard and it is paying off!!

Some of you may be discouraged because you haven’t gotten a medal yet or been the winner of the heat, don’t worry, your time will come. What is happening is more of our swimmers are finishing the races and doing so without being disqualified, that is huge!! You are doing the right thing and performing the stroke as it should be. Speed will come later as you develop more muscle and endurance. Continue to do the right thing and work hard and I promise it will pay off.

I have seen a LOT of passion and drive. Those are things that we can’t coach, those are things that will help push yourself to that next level.

Keep at it!!! Kick, kick, KICK!!!

Practice for Friday January 16th is CANCELLED. The school is not having any practices this evening. Rest up!!

I will be in contact with the Ogemaw coaches. If for any reason the time shifts for Saturday, I will post ASAP!!!

Just a reminder for this week.

Only swimmers going to the meet on Saturday will have practice on Friday. Those tha aren’t going to Ogemaw, we will see you next week.

Start times for this Saturday the 17th in Ogemaw:

10 and under:
warm up at 7:30 meet starts at 8:15

11 and older:
Warm up at 11:45 meet starts at 12:15

Admission is $3 per person, family pass for $10
