It was a great but eventful afternoon on the water with these great people. We were able to make it out between storms for a couple short hours to slam some fish before the kids went back to school. We battled a wicked current paired with waves from the storm that was bad enough we could only run six rods instead of 15 but we still put some good fish in the boat including this 18 pounder at the end that hit the wire diver while trying to reel in lines fast to dodge another storm that was rolling in. We had a blast and got it done in less than ideal conditions.

Big waves and screaming lines was the story line today. These guys battled through and put some nice fish in the boat. Lost a few screamers as well but that’s to be expected when fishing in the rollers. Great morning on the water and we were able to beat the storms back to the dock as an added bonus.

Had a great morning on the water with these guys. They made a long four hour trip this morning to get out and put some fish in the boat. It wasn’t exactly a fast and furious bite this morning but we stuck with the program and put a limit in the boat. We had a beautiful morning until the wind and fog rolled in out of nowhere limiting us to a North troll. Either way the trip was a success ending with a cooler full of fish and great memories made.

Had some free time this afternoon and was able to get out with my kids as well as my friends kids. We did something we’ve never done out here on Lake Huron and just decided to pull crawler harnesses for Walleye instead of chasing Trout and Salmon. The kids had a blast and we got some fish for the fryer this weekend.

What a way to cap of this families vacation. The original plan was for them to make it out fishing on Tuesday but with the high winds it just wasn’t possible. Fortunately I had availability last night and we were able to get out and find the fish. We got into a nice group of steelhead out there that gave us a nice show for a couple of hours as they put on their acrobatic show jumping out of the water once hooked. They didn’t all make it into the boat but it’s still definitely a show that puts smiles on everyone’s faces.

Can’t beat a night like tonight. We had a large group so again Highstick Charters and Fishy Mitten Charters teamed up to accommodate the large group and put them on the fish. These guys battled the waves today and were rewarded with a great catch of Steelhead, Coho salmon, Atlantic salmon, Lake Trout and Walleye tonight. We were stuck on a North troll without being able to turn due to the height of the waves but we picked the right line and the action was fast tonight. Can’t wait to fish with you guys again.
