We had lots of fun last night!
The Twins event got moved to the high school with the rain that was coming. We had a huge turnout or over 100 kids! There were 7 Twins representatives that taught basic skills to the kids in varied groups around the gym.
Then the rain and lightning came through and left just in time for the game!
We won against Bay City 4 to 3!
The Osceola Ambassadors were at the game for Sparkle Night and had their new candidates for this year attended.
Happy Father’s Day to all our dads out there!

Friday night we honored Don Stelter, original Braves player from the 1940’s, who recently celebrated his 95th birthday.
It was a beautiful night in Oakey Park!
Here is what was said about Don and pictures taken that evening⚾️⚾️

“Tonight we honor a true Osceola legend — Don Stelter!

Don celebrated his 95th birthday on June 2nd, and his story is deeply woven into the history of Braves baseball. He was one of the original Braves players back in the 1940s, holding down third base for eight seasons — including a memorable year when Bud Grant took the mound as pitcher. Don and Jackie have been regular attendees to many Braves games in the past 30 plus years. In 2015 Don was inducted into the Braves Hall Of Fame

Beyond baseball, Don’s life has been one of hard work and dedication. From farming and driving bus, to working at the Ford Motor plant and Custom Fire, he’s done it all. He also proudly served in the Army in the early 1950s.

Don and his wife Jackie raised three boys, and their family has grown to include seven grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Together, they’ve also been leaders in our community, spearheading numerous fundraising efforts over the years.

Don has truly been an integral part of Osceola for decades, and tonight we celebrate not just his accomplishments, but the incredible person he is.”

We didn’t win the game against River Falls last night but we celebrated a real winner! Here’s what was said-

“Tonight, the Braves proudly honor Robert “Bob,” better known to all of us as “Bull” Schmidt.

For the past 12 years, Bull has been an essential part of the Braves organization—serving as a board member and, more importantly, as the dedicated groundskeeper at Oakey Ballfield. He stepped up in 2014 following the passing of longtime volunteer Ray Potting, and from that moment on, he made the field his mission.

Alongside his trusted sidekick, Ricky Fehlen, Bull has poured countless hours into making sure the field and surrounding grounds look their absolute best all season long. His philosophy is simple: if it isn’t perfect, it isn’t good enough—and anyone who’s seen the pristine condition of this field knows he lives by those words.

From long hours on the mower tackling that rough outfield to trimming along every stretch of fencing, Bull’s hard work has not gone unnoticed.

We also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to his wife, Connie, and his entire family for sharing so much of his time with us over the years. Your support has meant more than you know.

Bull, please know you will always be a valued part of this organization. Your voice, your standards, and your presence will always be welcome here—and don’t worry, we’ll keep a few cold Schmidt beers on hand just for you.

Thank you, Bull. ⚾
