Cindy's getting stronger!!! Week 11 on her linear strength progression. When she started deadlifts at 35 lbs was taxing. Now she's doing twice that and still getting stronger. Nice work Cindy!

As of 3/24/2024 she's pulling 77.5 lbs and has "graduated" to the "big bar" of 45 lbs.

This post is a dynamic chart of her progress and will update over time.

I'm proud of this young lady! See started barbell training with us just over 8 weeks ago and has been a great training partner for Lara Rodgers.

So far she's doubled the weight she's deadlifting. Here she is making easy work of 72 lbs. More to come as Cindy Baker gets even stronger!

As we approach the end of year, many of us are thinking about New Year's resolutions. Let me share a little secret... THEY DON’T WORK!!!

The issue is everyone expects them to be broken. How many times have you broken yours?

Scott Adams in his excellent book, “How to Fail at Almost Everything and Still Win Big” shares his excellent advice “Losers have goals. Winners have systems.”

Let’s say you have a goal to lose weight and recomposition your body in 2024. If you set that goal, but have no underlying system or accountability you’re inviting failure. Conversely, following a great, proven system consistently will significantly increase your odds of reaching your goals and resolutions. Great systems make it hard to fail.

The system of linear strength progression using the four primary compound barbell lifts is a perfect example. While you can personally set goals before starting, the most important thing is following the system of starting out at a low, reasonable weight, and progressively adding weight each time you lift. It might be 10 lbs each time, it might be 5 lbs or even 2.5 lbs, but the key is to increase it each training session. Then rest, recover, adapt, and repeat the process

What’s holding you back from getting started? Is it the fear of failure? Fear of embarrassment? Not knowing where to start?⁣

Whatever it is, understand that everyone has fear. Everyone has to start somewhere. Starting builds momentum. Momentum builds on itself. Just begin.⁣

David was not unlike many of us. He worked out in high school, played sports, went off to college, got a desk job, had kids, and slowly became weak, out of shape, and overweight.

Tired of being sick and tired, he reached out to us for help. He needed some guidance, structure, and accountability around strength training and nutrition.

We helped him clean up his diet and put him on a linear barbell weight training program centered around the 4 primary, compound movements. His results were outstanding, but typical for what we see with our clients. He transformed his body by adding muscle mass, reducing body fat, and gaining much needed strength and mobility. He was able to lose OVER 100 lbs and started running again.

David recently sent us a picture while hiking in the mountains of St Kitts in the Caribbean with two of his kids. His previous self would have had a hard time keeping up. He definitely killed his clone. Well done David. Well done.
