Abbot Fletcher Sailing School Abbot Fletcher Sailing School offers Beginner, and Intermediate classes using Optis, 420's, Lasers, and a Rhodes19.

We teach sailing, boating safety and water navigation skills to children ages of 8-18. Our instructional programs offer opportunities to develop greater sailing ability, self-confidence, social skills, and an understanding of individual and cooperative seamanship in a unique ocean environment. We accept junior sailors from both member and non-member families. The Abbot Fletcher Sailing School is a

n organization that encourages diversity and equality. We invite all to join us as we grow and learn in a spirit of camaraderie and respect, passing on the heritage of sailing on the Maine coast.

Our Racing students attended a MIRC Regatta recently at Peaks Island. Here they are strategizing how they will navigate the course as well as leaving at the end of the day. Racing students have completed AFSS's Intermediate program and have the desire to hone the skills further through learning racing techniques and rules.
