Okan Morgans

Okan Morgans We are a family owned Farm, raising Morgan Horses of Lippitt bloodlines. We offer young and trained Lippitts for your consideration.

We have been doing this for over 35 years on 80 acres in the Beautiful Okanogan Valley of Washington State! What is a Lippitt Morgan

The Lippitt is a unique horse: handsome, typey, and versatile. It is a member of a strain of Morgans that has no 20th century outcrosses to other breeds, resulting in the highest percentage of the original Morgan blood available today. The term "high percentage" ref

ers to the concentration of blood achieved by linebreeding to the original Justin Morgan ("Figure"). A careful study of Lippitt pedigrees illustrates the intensity of this breeding technique as practiced by the early Morgan breeders, and because the Lippitt has been linebred for generations, its unique Morgan qualities have been reinforced. For years the Lippitt has demonstrated the ability to thrive on simple living conditions, working hard and requiring a minimum of pampering. The early Vermonters valued their "big little horse," for the Morgan accomplished whatever was asked of him: clearing land, driving, performing in parades, or racing down a country road. The Lippitt, who learns quickly and loves to try new things, is truly like his early ancestors. The ideal Lippitt Morgan ranges in height from 14.1 to 15.1 hands. He has a short head, great width between the eyes, and a well-crested neck of medium length, which comes out of the top of a long, well-laid-back shoulder and blends smoothly through the withers into a well-sprung, deep body. The back is short and smoothly joined to the hindquarters; the croup is long, wide, and slightly sloping, balancing the front quarters. The legs have long forearms, thighs, and gaskins, and short cannons, with medium length pasterns corresponding to shoulder angle. A compact horse with substance of bone combined with refinement, spirited yet controllable energy influences his powerful, rapid, and elastic gaits. It is with great pride in our herd that we invite you to enjoy our horses on the
pages contained in this website.

Our 2nd 2026 foal has arrived. Out of Okan Similkameen MisT by frozen semen from Okan Count on Me. She's a bay filly and we couldn't be happier, momma had an easy delivery and baby was up and doing everything she should with in 50 minutes of birth including coming to say hi to me and whinnying when I left the pasture. We are going to call her Beauty but will register her as Okan Counts Beautiful Bay.

I took a couple of video's of Reign today while Corene was working him. He's just under 14.3h and such a good boy.

As promised our new little girl. I think we will name her Okan MisLiberty (BTTR Independance X Okan Empress) DOB 3-23-26, one day old. She hasn't been outside so has a poopy bottom on legs (it's pouring rain) but hopefully tomorrow. I think it's a good cross.

Etiquette When Purchasing a Horse:
1. Be realistic with your abilities, goals, and budget before initiating contact.

2. Do not inquire about an animal unless you have a serious interest in purchasing them.

3. Be patient when expecting a response; not everyone is of retirement age. Some of us still work jobs other than just the farm.

4. If you’re going to make an offer lower than the asking price, be reasonable and kind.

5. Unless otherwise stated pre-purchase exams, extra vetting, and transportation costs are all at the buyer’s expense; account for those in your budget.

6. Be courteous in communication, negotiation, and requests.

7. If you request additional photo's/video don't be in a hurry for a response, as stated in #3, things take time.

Clear communication is extremely important when unexpected situations arise; a simple notification of a change in circumstances is a decent gesture for ending negotiations or purchase contracts.
