An update from one of our OG mates, the great
On November 1st I suffered catastrophic injuries resulting in bilateral amputation of my legs. The last few weeks have been the most challenging of my life, physically and mentally. Today I finally get to go back home for the first time. So many things had to go right for me to get to this point. I am grateful for the EMS response team that performed admirably to keep me alive. I am grateful for the trauma response team of medical city Denton that achieved the best possible outcomes in surgery when they seemed almost impossible. I am grateful for the nurses and doctors that helped me through the recovery process. I am grateful for the amazing physical and occupational therapists at Medical City Denton and Baylor for preparing me for the next chapter of my life and my new reality. More importantly i am grateful for my amazing wife, who gave me 1000 and 1 reasons to give everything i had to get back to her. I would truly be lost without her by my side. I am grateful to have an incredible support system through my family, who have been by my side every day and kept my spirits up. I am grateful to work for a company like Charles Schwab that continues to support me while I recover. Lastly, I would like to thank all our friends for going above and beyond what Julie and I could ever expect. The love and support has been incredible and kept me going every day in the right direction. The road to recovery is still long but I am fortunate to be set up for success by everyone around me. I am truly blessed.
