My love for food didn’t change, but the narrative I told myself did.

Trying to lose weight?

Potatoes are one of the BEST foods for fat loss.

But I’m using these potatoes to show that even with the most nutritious foods, a calorie deficit still matters. Simply scanning the label isn’t accurate tracking. This is just one example that applies to everything else you eat too.

👉Want more practical tips like this? Comment PARK below for my free guide with 14 tips to lose your next 25 pounds before your next theme park trip.

Estimating, eyeballing, or logging generic entries for even 1 or 2 foods each day can throw you off by hundreds of calories. Those calories can easily bring you right back to your maintenance intake, meaning you won’t see progress even though you swear you’re tracking everything and that a calorie deficit doesn’t work for you.

This margin of error gets even bigger when we try to estimate restaurant meals and foods we don’t prepare ourselves. The very least we can do is be precise with the foods we have at home and prepare the majority of our own meals.

This is a lifelong process and not a quick fix. But if your goal is to lose 100 pounds, what could realistically take 2 to 3 years can easily stretch into 10 to 15+ years when you keep avoiding the uncomfortable work and the data is always off.

It can still be sustainable and consistent, but sustainable doesn’t mean you get to avoid precision, honesty, and the parts that feel inconvenient.

(PS- weigh your potatoes raw BEFORE cooking)

You’ve become the “boy who cried wolf” when it comes to losing weight.

You KNOW you’re ready to make the change, but nobody else around you believes you because, honestly, you’ve started over before.

So of course they’re going to say things like, “c’mon, just live a little,” “you have to enjoy yourself,” and “you can have one cheat day,” because they’ve seen how this usually ends.

It’s not that they think you’re weak. It’s that they don’t think this time is going to be different.

Let me know if this sounds familiar?

When I started my weight loss journey for the last time, I dealt with the SAME thing.

Holding boundaries was hard, but part of changing my habits and identity was also changing the way people perceived my habits and identity. If I always gave in to the offer of breaking my commitment to myself, of course they’d continue asking. They were responding to the pattern they’d seen before.

This is why having someone on YOUR team matters when you’re serious about making this the last time you start over.

Because even though the people closest to you want the best for you, they don’t know what it’s like to make this kind of lifestyle shift or navigate all the emotions that come with it.

And THAT is the power of having a coach who’s been where you are. Someone who sees the person you’re becoming before everyone else does, and helps you keep showing up until everyone else starts to see it too. 🙌

The saddest part isn’t checking the weight limit.

It’s when you’ve done it so many times that you stop thinking there’s anything wrong with it.

So you volunteer to hold everyone’s bags, or you convince yourself you don’t really want to do the hike, the zipline, the horseback ride, or the excursion anyway. Even some boat rides have weight limits, and helicopter tours may require you to buy two seats.

Eventually this becomes so routine that you stop questioning it, and that’s the part that concerns me.

Because when something becomes normal, it stops feeling urgent to change.

Complacency settles in. I know because I did the same thing.

I got tired of looking for the activities I could do and avoiding the ones I couldn’t.

I wanted options.

Even if I didn’t WANT to zipline, I wanted to be able to say no because I didn’t want to. Not because my body made the decision for me.

You can decide to make the next experience different… to get your life back and be part of the memories with no limits.

This freedom feels like the final piece of my 165-pound weight loss journey. The part that helped close one chapter and let a new one begin.

It’s been one year since my arm lift and breast lift with augmentation and internal mesh bra by Gavin Dry, M.D. at Athēnix!

My big hot take? This recovery was harder than my 360 tummy tuck in 2023.

I have an autoimmune condition, so I needed clearance from my rheumatologist before surgery. I also dealt with 20 lbs of swelling and a few incision openings under my breast, near my armpit, and by my elbow. Every time I thought I was past it, something would open again.

Athenix was there through all of it. I could call or text the nurses whenever I needed, and even text Dr. Dry directly. So grateful for them. I was back to normal living around 8 weeks post-op!

Now here I am one year later, I’m fully healed and so happy with my results. My implants are 385cc, high profile, under the muscle, with an internal mesh bra for extra support. I’m now a 36DD, and at 5’3 I’m really happy with how they fit my frame.

Shopping for clothes feels COMPLETELY different now. Bras, bathing suits, open-back tops, strapless dresses. Things that used to make me spiral in the dressing room finally feel fun.

If you’re interested in booking a free consultation with Athenix, check out the link in my bio. They’ll take care of you with the same white-glove experience I had both times.

You know something needs to change.

You’ve tried doing this alone for years and keep ending up in the same situation every single trip, even though you swore last time that things would be different next time.

You’re tired of trying to lose weight every time you book a vacation and want to become the woman who doesn’t have to worry about that. The woman who lives every day in a strong and capable body.

If you’re ready to become that woman, let’s get to work. Apply for coaching through the link in my bio.

Every woman is saying, “I want to lose weight,” but a lot of women are also explaining why they can’t start yet.

And that’s where it gets tricky because a lot of the reasons ARE valid. Life is busy, investment does matter, and motivation comes and goes.

I saw this on my own journey AND as a weight loss coach that’s helped over 100 women. The problem starts when those reasons become sort of like a weight loss purgatory.

Mentally thinking about weight loss is EXHAUSTING. So you could spend decades feeling like you’ve been trying everything when… you really haven’t.

This was tough for me to admit.

Even to this day, I stop to fact-check myself before trying to rationalize something: Is this reason fact or is it feeling?

I’m going to hold your hand when I say “I’m lazy” and “I love food too much” are not facts. They’re narratives and those can change.

So while it felt like things were crazy (and they were), the fact of the matter is life hadn’t actually “calmed down” for more than a couple of days in years. That’s just life. And if I could only follow a plan that works during perfect, calm situations, what would happen once s**t hit the fan again? And it always did/does.

“Ready” isn’t a feeling, it’s a choice. 🙌
