It’s very easy to think that you get optimal shoulder turn in the backswing by just viewing how far back your shaft goes. Even though PGA pros don’t typically have long swings with their shaft going way past parallel, they do get TONS of shoulder rotation. However, the angle between their arm and wrist is just less. Proper shoulder turn is important for generating optimal speed in the swing. If you are lacking shoulder turn even if your shaft is reaching parallel or just past it, your thoracic spine mobility might be holding you back from further drives.
