We’re excited to welcome Greg Lohr to the KC Smoke roster!

A former cyclist, Greg originally started running as a way to spend more time with his wife, who is also an avid runner. What began as a shared hobby quickly turned into a passion for racing and endurance sports.

Greg enjoys all distances and endurance challenges, but the 5K is his favorite place to compete. As he continues to build on his strong fitness foundation, his sights are set on lowering both his 5K and mile personal bests.

🔥🥈 NATIONAL RUNNER-UP 🥈🔥

A huge congratulations to KC Smoke’s Reid Buchanan on an outstanding performance at the 2026 USATF 4 Mile National Championships in Peoria, Illinois!

Reid battled one of the deepest road racing fields in the country and crossed the line in 18:00, earning 2nd place overall and the highest finish of his career at this championship. He finished just three seconds behind champion Ahmed Muhumed (17:57) and ahead of a field packed with national-caliber talent.

This result adds another chapter to an already impressive racing résumé and continues a strong 2026 campaign for one of America’s most versatile distance runners.

A Kansas native and former Division I runner at the University of Kansas, Evan brings elite-level experience and serious firepower to the Smoke roster. He’s a 2x U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials qualifier and one of the top road racers in the Midwest.

Kansas City native and former University of Kansas track & XC athlete Jack Young is joining KC Smoke.

Jack has built an impressive post-collegiate resume while balancing a career as an architectural designer focused on multi-family and affordable housing projects throughout the KC area. His consistency, range, and long-term development have made him one of the stronger distance athletes in the region.
