I’m calling it like it is: Motherhood is an identity hacker. 😲⠀
⠀
There hasn’t been a single one of my 3 pregnancies that hasn’t affected my “identity”.⠀
⠀
When I had Bodhi, my identity was immediately affected. I’m still putting in the effort and love into doing what I know to keep my alignment. ⠀
⠀
I mean, it makes sense. Physically, your instinct kicks in. You can FEEL that shift in your body. It’s natural for us to step into that mindset and that role for our little ones. It’s a beautiful thing. ⠀
⠀
However, while you’re busy juggling all of these instincts.... you see yourself fading in the distance. It happens to everyone. ⠀
⠀
When you feel it creeping in, come back to this post and read the following 4 reminders: ⠀
⠀
1. You’re more than a momma because you are more than what you do. You have an identity that runs DEEEEEP and staying connected to this identity will serve you AND your children. It’s important for them to see you in your identity because there’s a reason they came into this world through YOU. No different than your potential clients, your kids came into your life because their little souls benefit from your core and divine identity. ⠀
⠀
2. They are of you but aren’t you. This is a reminder that your children have their OWN identity. It isn’t your responsibility to create their identity, you just get to nurture the one they have and keep them true to that.⠀
⠀
3. Grow through it. When we are really in tune with OUR identity, we see the areas of personal growth that parenting offers us. Every challenge has an opportunity for growth and introspection. You get to go within and see the situation through a different perspective that will serve to bring you even closer to your divine identity. They are amazing little mirrors! ⠀
⠀
4. You can do it. Truly. You can be their mother and be the badass you know you are. You can nurture your babies and shift the lives of those around you. You CAN have a bad day at home, and still kick ass at work (or vice versa). You CAN! You’re allowed. You aren’t a fraud. You aren’t fake. On the contrary, you’re quite real... and the world needs to see more of THAT. ⠀
⠀
Hope you had an amazing mommas day!
