DEMO DERBY RULES / MWFA
💥 TOTAL CARNAGE! 💥
This class was created to HAVE FUN and put on an exciting show for the fans — TOTAL CARNAGE!
⚠️ IMPORTANT: If you show up with a vehicle built beyond what is specifically allowed in these rules, YOU WILL NOT RUN.
1. ELIGIBLE VEHICLES
Any 1980 and newer 2-wheel-drive passenger car, mini-van, mini-truck, or mid-size SUV.
❌ No full-size trucks or SUVs
❌ No limousines
❌ No hearses
2. STRIPPING THE VEHICLE
All vehicles must have all plastic, glass, headlights, taillights, and anything else that could fall off onto the track during the show removed.
3. BUMPERS
All vehicles must remain stock. DO NOT alter the bumper in any way.
Factory bumper shocks must remain in the factory location if used.
❌ No welding on bumpers.
You may use double-strand #9 wire to secure the bumpers in 2 locations per bumper.
4. NO WELDING
🚫 NO WELDING ANYWHERE EXCEPT THE DRIVER'S DOOR.
5. DOORS
You may weld 6 inches per vertical seam on the driver's door ONLY.
All other doors must be secured shut using seat belts, wire, or chains in 4 places per seam.
6. BATTERY
The battery may remain in the stock location or be moved to the passenger floor or passenger-seat area.
The battery must be completely secured and covered so it cannot move.
7. GAS TANK
If the factory gas tank is in front of the rear axle, it may remain in the factory location.
If the tank is behind the rear axle, it MUST be moved to the rear-seat area.
Factory or aftermarket tanks may be used, but they must be completely secured.
8. HOOD / TRUNK / TAILGATE
Hoods, trunks, and tailgates may be wired or chained in 4 places TOTAL.
➡️ Sheet metal to sheet metal ONLY.
❌ Nothing may be attached to the frame.
If you remove the trunk or tailgate, you lose the wire or chain for that location.
9. REAR SEAT BAR / CAGE
A rear-seat bar may be added and welded post to post.
A simple 2x2 cage may be installed, but there may be NO legs going to the sheet metal.
⚠️ The cage is for DRIVER SAFETY ONLY and may NOT be used to strengthen the vehicle.
10. DRIVER'S DOOR PLATE
The driver's door ONLY may have a plate welded to the outside.
This is strictly for driver safety.
11. TIRES & WHEELS
✅ DOT tires ONLY
✅ Stock wheels ONLY
❌ No metal may be added to the wheels
❌ All wheel weights must be removed
❌ No tire stuffing or other material
ONLY TUBES AND AIR ARE PERMITTED INSIDE THE TIRES.
12. FINAL RULE
These rules are CUT AND DRY. You shouldn't have to call and ask many questions about this class.
