78mph vs. 91mph. Who is who?

Our friends at .inc are back with their biomechanical analysis software, Visual3D. This time, we are looking at biomechanical differences between two pitchers to infer why one might throw 13mph faster than another.

Specifically, we will look at body segment angular velocities to see if pitchers are using the correct proximal to distal rotation sequence for efficient energy transfer!

Stay tuned for Part 2, where we will compare groups of “fast” and “slow” pitchers to see if we can identify which mechanics fast pitchers leverage that slow pitchers don’t!
