Not getting enough sleep is underrated. Often we aren’t in full control of our sleep due to all the things like school schedules. But we can schedule days with nothing but rest. That is what today is supposed to be…Labor (free) day. Enjoy what ever relaxing activity you enjoy today so you get plenty of sleep tonight.

Over the next few months, I’ve been planning on bringing more awareness to how these topics connect with driving even more in my blog along with resources to help you integrate into your daily life.

What are your thoughts?

The evidence is no longer the question.

We know lifestyle influences health.

We know optimal nutrition, physical activity, restorative sleep, stress management, connectedness, and risky substance avoidance play a powerful role in treating, reversing and preventing chronic disease.

The real question is: Are we willing to redesign healthcare around what we know to be true?

In a thought-provoking new blog, ACLM CEO Dr. John Findley argues that lifestyle medicine's next evolution must move beyond individual behaviors and toward a broader vision of whole-person health.

Not treating symptoms in isolation. Not managing disease indefinitely. But creating the conditions that allow health, resilience, and healing to emerge. Because the future of medicine isn't lifestyle medicine versus conventional medicine.

It's lifestyle medicine serving as the foundation that allows the best of modern medicine to achieve its fullest potential.

As a mom of 2 teen daughters, what & how they drive is super important to me.

🤔 It’s not just do they like the look of the car, but what’s the fuel economy and most importantly how will it be if the unfortunate happens? How big is the front end crumple zone? What are the blind spots like? What are the technology features and can you turn them off? Personally, I’m not a fan of the automatic highbeams or the lane keep assist. But then again I also don’t drive on my phone and it’s always on do not disturb. 🤪

👇 Here’s a great list that insurance Institute of Highway safety has put together for those that wanna make sure they’re making a good decision for their new drivers.

Ever notice how as we get older, joy sometimes feels harder to find?

Life gets busy. Responsibilities pile up. And instead of making space for what truly fills us up, we often settle for distractions just to get through the day.

Ironically, it’s similar to driving. When we don’t leave enough space on the road, stress goes up and safety goes down. The same thing happens in life.

Jenn wrote a quick blog about why “creating space” matters both behind the wheel and in your daily routine—and how it might actually help your stress, focus, and patience more than you realize.

☀️ Curious… what’s one thing you need to make more space for this summer?

A question that often comes up in my Orlando traffic safety classes: Do you feel like joy is harder to come by as you get older?Adulting piles on responsibilities. Somewhere along the way, fun starts getting scheduled, skipped, or shoved aside. We chase quick dopamine hits—scrolling, speeding, sna...

Behavior change doesn’t happen in a single visit—and clinicians shouldn’t have to do it alone.

As the burden of chronic disease continues to grow, integrating the right team-based support is becoming essential to delivering effective, sustainable care.

That’s where health and wellness coaches come in.

ACLM’s new toolkit helps clinicians and care teams better understand how to integrate HWCs into lifestyle medicine practice—supporting patients with strategies like motivational interviewing, goal-setting, and ongoing engagement.

The result:
- More consistent follow-through for patients
- More efficient workflows for care teams
- And stronger outcomes over time

Because lasting behavior change doesn’t just come from information—it comes from support.
