Champions again! Last weekend these boys showed what being resilient is all about. 5-0 for the weekend and winning the Championship game 16-11 against a really good Jacksonville team who jumped out on us multiple times. These boys did not give up being down 6-11 and storming back! Proud of these boys is an understatement. And most importantly, the growth and development our coaches saw those 2 days was amazing. Go Crush!

Side note:
I would say, the most satisfying win was the semi-final game. Parents need to let the players play. Let the players chirp. Let the umps do their job. When parents are clapping while a pitch is thrown and yelling drop it on a pop fly trying to affect my players, that’s where the line is drawn. Just be a fan. It’s not that serious. Competitiveness is great, but with respect. I do appreciate the other team’s first baseman, he’s going to go far in life and in baseball. Other players saying we got lucky while shaking their hands…..wow just wow. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Do better parents.

What a year EO Crush had. I wanted to finish the year with this post, but decided to start the year with it instead.

We started the year testing the USSSA waters out for the first time. The boys had so much fun they took home the championship in only their second ever USSSA tournament! Next for Crush was taking home the Spring Black Mamba banner. While the victory was nice, the looks on the boys’ faces said it all. They wanted the King Cobra banner that has been so elusive in years past. Crush played their first big summer tournament in Pigeon Forge, TN. The boys learned about finishing strong and pushing through even when it seems impossible. And finish strong they did!

Crush had a rough August and September where we felt like we lost our footing. Then, November came and Crush came in like a bulldozer. We finally won the King COBRA Championship! This has been a goal since Crush formed in Spring 2023. Crush finished the year off strong in December by going 7-4-1 in our last two tournaments.

I’m so proud of the growth and development by all of our Crush players.

2025 Fall King Cobra Babe Ruth Champs! These boys were locked in today! Great team effort both at the plate and on the field to get us the win over Sanford River Rats 12u 12-3. Rocco started on the mound and threw 3 great innings and Landon closed it out. 11 total hits led by a 3 for 3 performance by our King Cobra MVP Marcus who had 2 doubles, a single, and 5 RBIs. Landon and Rocco both collected 2 hits each while Antonio hit a monster double that scored 2 runs. So proud of these boys. We’ve had 2 Black Mamba ships, but now have met our goal in bringing home a King Cobra Championship!

We are scheduled to play 6-7 tournaments this Fall as well as play in the Babe Ruth COBRA league. And even more exciting, we are planning our trip to Cooperstown Dreams Park in mid June! What a week at the Ripken Experience! Crush played in their first big summer tournament in Pigeon Forge, TN this past week. Crush had 3 days of tough pool play games full of triple A & majors teams. Crush heated up just in time for bracket play. The team defeated the 2nd seed in the silver bracket for one of the biggest upsets of the tournament! They worked so hard in their quarterfinal game but came up 2 runs short of the semifinals. The boys came to the fields and got better each day. The growth they showed was amazing to see. Crush really left it all on the field during bracket play! As one of our parents put it, it’s not how you start it’s how you finish. This team made their coaches and families so proud!

The Spring 2025 Babe Ruth COBRA season has come to an end. After a first round loss, these boys fought their way back to win the Black Mamba bracket Championship!

Congrats to our Spring MVP Jeremy! Over 12 games this season, he batted .500, had 12 hits, 14 RBIs, accounted for 10 runs of his own, 14 stolen bases, and only struck out once! He’s a valuable utility player who stepped it up at 3rd base, 1st base, catcher, and left field.

Jeremy joins our 2024 Fall COBRA MVPs, Landon and Jaxsen.

Next up for us, the CFL USSSA Memorial Day Classic next weekend!
