From Sensei Doug Clark: "It is with great sadness that I learned today of the passing of Hidetoshi Nakanishi-sensei. Nakanishi sensei was a former world champion and Olympian from Japan, member for the national coaching staff, Judo coach and professor at Tokai University, his alma mater, and one of the most beloved and significant Japanese Judo instructors who gave seminars around the world. I met Nakanishi sensei in his office at Toka Univi and he couldn't have been more kind, including autographing a book for me. He helped to support Tokai students who came to Metro Orlando Judo Kai, and we are forever grateful to him. I first saw him in person at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, where by luck he and Kashiwazaki Sensei were sitting in front of me. It's terribly sad news, and a loss to the Global Judo community as well as to Tokai Judo. Our most sincere condolences go out to the Nakanishi family, and extended Tokai Judo family. Rest in Peace Sensei!
