First tournament of the fall is in the books!

We finished the weekend with a 4-1 record. Although we didn’t come away with the championship and fell just short as runners-up, there is absolutely nothing for these girls to hang their heads about. Our future is bright!

We will never lose sight of the fact that winning championships is the end goal, but if we’re getting better, seeing development, and instilling a championship mindset in our players, then we count that as a win too.

Every girl who took the field this weekend showed heart, grit, and determination. One word we’ve really been focusing on lately is complacency. We believe that can play a big part in a lot of our struggles, and we’re going to continue pushing these girls to stay hungry, compete, and never get comfortable.

We can feel that big things are coming with this group.

For now, it’s back to the grind — development, tough practices, fundamental breakdowns, and continuing to get better every time we step on the field.

We’ll see everyone in E-Town on October 2!

We want to give a huge shoutout to our #6 Harper “Harp DAWG” Smith! 1B/utility ⭐️

Harper put together one incredible season, checking just about every offensive box from the first game of the fall all the way through the final game of the summer. She hit for average, got on base at an elite level, created chaos on the bases, and came through time and time again when her team needed her the most.

This recognition could have gone to several players because we had multiple girls put together outstanding offensive seasons. But after looking at the complete body of work, Harp DAWG earned the title of our All-Around Offensive Performer. Every time she stepped into the batter’s box or became a base runner she gave us something to cheer about!
