What are Gold Stars at AMYS? ⭐

At AMYS, martial arts training goes beyond kicks and punches. Each month, students have the opportunity to complete optional life skills worksheets focused on character development.

When a student completes their worksheet and demonstrates the life skill they’ve been working on, they earn a Gold Tape for their belt.

Once a student earns 3 Gold Tapes, they present them at their next Belt Testing and receive a Gold Star Patch for their uniform. ⭐

It’s our way of recognizing students who are working hard both on and off the mats to grow into strong leaders and role models.

Instructor, competitor, assistant coach, and all-around powerhouse. With over 14 years of Taekwondo, a 3rd Dan black belt, and balancing medical school on top of it all, she’s an incredible role model for our students. We’re so grateful to have her on our AMYS team!

Jayden and Inty represented AMYS at the Ultimate Warrior Championships today and brought the energy! 🥋

Inty took gold in her division, and Jayden earned gold in his division plus silver in exhibition matches. So proud of these athletes!

From supporting from the sidelines to earning his Black Belt 🥋

Aron’s two kids began taekwondo when they were just 3 & 5 years old. He spent years bringing them to class, watching from the sidelines and supporting their journey. When he was invited to join a family class, his kids kept asking him to train too— and one day, he finally said yes.

What started as support turned into his own martial arts journey. Years later, his daughter Mirai has now earned her 1st degree black belt, and this past fall Aron and his son Owie tested for theirs. This spring, they’ll receive their new Black Belts together. A powerful reminder that it’s never too late to start- and that sometimes, our kids lead the way. 🥋

This week’s Leadership Team theme was Communication!
The students practiced a drill called Silent Instruction- teaching without using words. It pushed them to communicate through body language, creativity, and clear demonstrations. A great reminder that communication is more than just talking! Great job team!

New class at AMYS: Friday Tumbling classes! 🤸🏻‍♀️
These classes are perfect for kids who love to flip, roll, jump, and move- while building strength, coordination, and balance in a fun & supportive environment.

To kick things off, we’re offering FREE trial classes on select Fridays in January so your child can come try it out!

📅 Free Trial Dates:
• Friday, January 9th
• Friday, January 24th
• Friday, January 31st

⏰ Class Times:
• Ages 4–7: 4:30–5:00 PM
• Ages 8–14: 5:00–5:45 PM

Whether your child is brand new to tumbling or already loves gymnastics-style movement, this class is designed to meet them where they’re at and help them grow.

Spots are limited, so if you’d like to reserve a free trial for your child, just send us a message to save your spot!
