Throwback to our shake journey! šŸ„¤šŸ’•
I found a picture of Jax from a few years ago then managed to find Rilyn & Dylan. UGH, my mom heart, I can’t believe how much has changed—except these babies & shakes! These have been our go-to breakfast for YEARS.

Back then, the kids were little, and mornings were hectic. Between our cupboard stash or a squick stop at the club, breakfast became quick, easy, and balanced. Packed with 21 vitamins, minerals, and 24g of protein, they’ve helped us all stay full and energized to tackle the day. šŸ’Ŗ

I’m so grateful we started this routine early—it’s been such a lifesaver for our busy mornings. Who else has a morning routine that’s stood the test of time?

BUT I’m doing it.
šŸ‘‰šŸ½ Sorry for the nursing bra (note to self, when taking your before photo—FIND YOUR SPANDEX & SPORTS BRA JESS🤣

But it’s been a minute since I had a larger then 5lb weight loss journey - and let me tell you I feel like I’m starting ALL OVER & humbling my ego. I was embarrassed that I couldn’t put on a single cute top or size 4 Jean in my closet - I was upset that I didn’t have a low gain pregnancy like I did 6 years prior, I was abusing my own self worth and comparing judging and criticizing everything around me. I was simply uuuuggggghhhh 🤮 over everything.

I took a breath and one of my friends told me ā€œSuccess is nothing more then a few simple discliplines practiced every day.ā€
I thanked her for that.

Month 1. Two things I started with.
1) Do what you can. You can’t start a better life change process then cleaning up what you should be doing. Don’t walk like other people walk. Don’t postpone like other people postpone. It’s that simple

2) Do the best you can. Whatever your hands find to do - do it with all your might, do it with all your strength, and do it with all your power.

Don’t neglect what you CAN do and do the BEST you can.

Putting on a pair of pre pregnancy jeans & putting away Christmas wrapping paper 🤣

Breastfeeding & Herbalife I swear by it.

I’ve been fortunate enough to be able to breastfeed all three babies, but Jax has been the most challenging as he had a level 4 tounge and lip tie. 🄓

We seem to be heading in a positive direction so this week while Brandon transitioned to his work from home position with the VA, I transitioned back into some of my favorite places. Popping over to visit team at Genoa Nutrition, picking up a short shift at Glendale Nutrition and back on the class scheudle at Mind Over Core Health + Fitness.
So it was fitting to celebrate with the jeans I was crying over a few weeks prior!

🧁Protein packed dessert in 1 minute?! YES please 🤤

I love mug cakes for 5ļøāƒ£ reasons:
- super quick
- delicious
- packed with protein
- satisfies my sweet cravings
- single serve -> I can eat it ALLšŸ¤°šŸ»šŸ˜

🄜 šŸ Peanut Butter Maple Pecan Mug cake

Ingredients: ⁣
*2 scoops of Maple Pecan formula 1
*2 scoops of Protein Drink Mix
* 1/3cup + 1 tbps water
* 1/2 tbsp peanut butter

Toppings (you can use anything you like)
*I drizzled sugar free syrup + sugar free whipped cream

Method:⁣
1. Combine all the dry ingredients into a microwave safe bowl or mug.⁣
2. Mix well.
3. Microwave it for about 60 seconds. (depending on your microwave)
**If you want the middle to be gooey, stop the microwave every 15-20 seconds to make sure you don’t overcook it.

I mean it doesn’t get easier than this! (The only reason I put it on a cake was to make a picture, otherwise I save a dish and eat that straight from the mug)

Your health journey doesn’t have to be BORING.

Recently a family member said ā€œwe are being careful with what we eat, watching our carbs, being good at not eating out - but we are going tonightā€

All I heard from her was shame and guilt for going out to ENJOY dinner with friends. My people, we do this far too often, and we constantly think ā€œdietā€ is a bad thing when really it’s a temporary thing.

What we get to do, is rethink our drinks & our foods swap this trick for that treat make it a lifestyle to learn and adapt. (You can still have your pizza)šŸ˜…

Take yogurt for example.
Look at the ingredient label, specifically the SUGAR.
Are you under or over 12g?
What’s the added sugars?
What’s the serving size?

Rethink your choices aim for single servings under 12g of sugar and be mindful of WHAT KINDS of sugar your adding to your day.

Just dropped this recipe in our client group today!

Aunt Eileen sent me this picture this morning, and gaaaah - it put a smile on my face. I never took care of my skin when I was young, no matter how often my Oma told me to take care of it.

She was in her 70s with beautiful skin 1 - I was young, boarder line tom boy, what did she know 😐

October 19 is a special day in my heart and the day that I choose to celebrate and love in any area that brings JOY! There was a period of time I dreaded October 19 and a period of time I LIVED for October 19.
Some years it is sweetest day, somedays it was just another day of the week but in fall of 2013, it became my wedding day to my late Husband Ryan.

I'm here to tell you that it is your choice in how you want to celebrate days that are meaningful to you. Love is not linear. It is ever so expanding in ways you never knew were possible.

Its possible to find love for new life experiences, for things we have access to daily - for people we never knew were just around the corner

It can also feel threatening. Being loved arouses anxiety because it threatens long-standing psychological defenses formed early in life in relation to emotional pain and rejection of our past. It can arouses sad and painful feelings from the past AND EVEN throw us into an identity crisis.

whatever your story, it's ok. Now is the time to heal yourself ā¤

Last year on October 19th, we had a Ribbon Cutting celebration at Genoa Nutrition and it was such an incredible day to celebrate with my kids & my main squeeze BSharp.

This year, I acknowledge Brandon for bravely walking next to me in my journey. He challenges me and encourages me, listens to my vents and together we’ve put back pieces of our once broken lives and continue to work on it every day. His genuine calmness has allowed me to trust and to find love again. He encourages me to lesson the judgements I feel on the regular and continue to build my life navigating the ups and downs on my terms.

We are here to have families, and even though they’re not all put together in the same way, there’s beauty in everything god has a hand in even if we can’t always see it, especially when we are in the thick of it. I honor my life with Ryan, & will continue to do the best I can and always keep an open perspective.

Discovering how you can contribute to the world in a unique way makes you feel useful, inspired and alive. It doesn’t have to come in some pretty package or make sense to anyone else, just you.

Having the trappings of success - fame, wealth, beauty - doesn’t necessarily bring us true happiness or a sense of self-worth. Our life’s mission is not to achieve the appearance of success or whatever version of success your parents, friends, or teachers what for you. Nor should you sit around and wait for someone to drop something wonderful into your lap.

It is to discover that thing that makes you tick and then to spend a lifetime doing it. So fight to find it, to figure it out, to stumble upon it, and chase it down. When you do, your passion will shine so brightly through you that it’s contagious.

Bringing a new babe into this world threw me into a cycle of thoughts both good and bad - almost as if it was the wake up call I was asking for, but didn’t know I needed. A blessing, a new chapter - and with that more room for growth (and not the in the physical state 🤪)

This manifesto came out of my morning reading, too good not to share ā˜ŗļø

I am Enough. I have enough. I do enough.

I am me. Every day.
Not who I think others expect me to be, but the real, unedited, beauty-full, perfectly flawed version.
I choose to think for myself.
I speak my truth
And wrestle with life’s tough questions over and over again. I daydream about a better world and strive to make it my reality.

My purpose drives me
And I give it the freedom to change and evolve.
I breathe life into my dreams and to the dreams of others.
I believe in magic. I look for it everywhere.
I make an adventure of ordinary things.
Create, imagine, reinvent, and get lost.

I do things that inspire me.
I defy the odds, raise my hand, sit at the table and lean in.
I refuse to give up.
I pursue my passion at all costs. I do things that terrify me.
My head dances among the stars, and my feet remain on mother earth.
I’m willing to ask the hard questions, to take chances, to love with my whole heart.
My mistakes and failures make me stronger.
I do not ascribe my worth to external validation, but my character.

I surround myself with phenomenal people,
Especially ones who don’t always agree with me.
I choose authenticity over perfection.
I appreciate the small details that tend to go unnoticed by others.

My worth is innate and immeasurable. I try to remind myself of that, daily.

I exercise patience as often as possible,
Stay vulnerable even when I want to close my heart
And practice coexisting with things that make me uncomfortable.
I set boundaries, work to honour them,
And am willing to edit people out of my life who don’t.
I walk more than a mile in other people’s shoes,
And suspend judgement as long as humanly possible.

I remember to laugh more, stress less, forgive often, and inject love everywhere I can.
I do my best to relinquish every ounce of control because it’s futile.

I throw my hands up, close my eyes, and
Revel in life’s awesome and mysterious ride.
My emotions are fleeting, they do not define me.
My choices do, and I do my best to make good ones.

I feed my body good, whole foods,
But I don’t punish myself for the occasional indulgence.

I move my body every day. I stretch, challenge, and honour her.
I rest when I need to.

I don’t accept every invitation that comes my way.
I practice saying ā€œno.ā€
Show myself kindness, compassion, and unconditional love.
I am my best friend, I’m proud of me.

I share my life’s lessons with others, even the not so shiny ones.
I hold nothing back. Cry when I need to,
But also recognize when I need to buck up.

I remember to breathe and in that space, I find my clam among the chaos.

I owe it to myself to be remarkable, so I am.
