With a father who was a martial artist and Vietnam vet, a mother who is breast cancer survivor and a grandfather who was a Golden Gloves boxer, its no surprise that fighting is in his “Holds”. When he was eight years old, his elder brother was shot and killed. At his brother’s funeral, his sensi posthumously awarded him his black belt in American kickboxing. Holdsworth, aged 8, told his mother he

wanted to be a martial artist just like his brother so he excelled in several martial arts, especially BJJ. He was awarded his blue belt from the legendary Royce Gracie, his purple belt by Rener, Ryron and Rorion Gracie, and was awarded his brown and black belt by Marc Laimon. At age 21 (2009) he was one of the youngest BJJ black belts in the US. Chris started the transition to MMA right around brown belt and went undefeated in the TUFF N Uff circuit ( Am) going 6-0 with all 1st round finishes. He was a 4 time champion in 2 different weight classes with them. Chris then went pro racking up 4 more submission victories on his way to trying out for the reality show “ The Ultimate Fighter” where he dominated his season finishing everyone with Submissions. Holdsworth went along and became champion of season 18 of the Ultimate Fighter.

Professor Holdsworth is excited to bring his knowledge, expertise, and experience to the Orangevale area! He plans to begin teaching classes by the 24th of January.
