G4MO FESTIVAL OF FOOTBALL
Rockland GAA was delighted to welcome the New York Ladies Annual Gaelic 4 Mothers & Others Festival of Football back to its facilities on Saturday, October 10th, for a great day of football and a fantastic turnout from teams across Ireland and New York.
Rockland was well represented, with over two dozen players taking to the field under the guidance of coaches Mary Rose O’Flynn, Orla Hayes, Catherine Tracey, Meghan Treanor and Katherine Carstensen.
The festival welcomed 28 teams from Ireland, bringing players together for a day that celebrated everything Gaelic 4 Mothers & Others is about. With beautiful weather throughout the day, players enjoyed a great day of football, caught up with friends, made new ones and shared their love of the game.
With games taking place across multiple fields, live music in the pavilion and plenty of support from the sidelines, there was a brilliant atmosphere throughout the day. It was great to see so many players enjoying themselves and to have the Rockland facilities host such a successful festival.
Thank you to the NY Ladies Board for organizing the event, and to Rockland GAA Events Coordinator Ann Nally, the Rockland GAA Executive Board, the Facility Management Committee and the clubhouse staff for their help and support in welcoming the festival back to Rockland.
Rockland Gaelic 4 Mothers & Others will be back training in the spring! Anyone interested in joining is welcome to get involved. You don’t have to be a mother to play — you just need to be 25 or older and not registered with a competitive team. For more information, email [email protected].
