When you play golf, what do you aim at? When I ask that question to my students many will answer “somewhere over there”. My response is, when you throw darts do you aim at the whole board? Does a pitcher aim at the whole strike zone? Of course not. When you play always pick a very small target like the tip of a tree branch. The mind focuses better on small targets.

When you practice spend a majority of your time working on picturing the shot heading toward a specific small target. Go through your routine. Just hitting ball after ball does not prepare you for on course play.

Lee Westwood is leading at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Lee is 47 years old. Why is it in golf, unlike other major sports, players often compete at the highest level well into their late 40's or even 50's? I have my theory; I am curious to hear yours.
