The second-generation S14(G2) pays homage to the original in its hull shape, but we added some beam to increase the primary stability and a touch of volume for the carrying capacity. You will find this boat retains the smooth efficient feel in the water with updated features above the waterline. A paddle recess behind the cockpit rim, a wider and more functional lock bar and more aggressive cut-aways make for a tighter catch and modern look, plus the convenience of a deck pod makes storing a phone or keys easy. To round out this best seller, we refined the ergonomics of the cockpit and seating position for better rotation and rolling.

Days like today make it all worthwhile.

Twice a year we put out a call for help with the docks, and twice a year this community delivers in a big way. This year Brad, who now owns the white building accross the steet brought his tractor over to help move things closer, Norm from Grave Robbers came to lend a hand, Kyle from Simmington Seasonal Services is always a huge help. We also had Sharon, Tom, Joel, Randy and his crew and a bunch of other names that I should probably remember by now. Everyone pitched in and we got the job done quickly and we had fun doing it. Paul from Pizza Factory made sure we were well fed.

The most rewarding part about doing this job today was watching these kids. As the pieces made their way into a dock these kids quickly picked up on what needed to be done and jumped right in. By the end of the job, many of the adults were really just supervising and supporting them as they built their community.

Did you know that the floating dock system at our place is pubicly owned?

It's actually owned by the town, but we put it in, maintain it and remove it every year.

Unfortunately there is no easy way to do this job. Heavy equipment could damage the brick walkways, so the sections have to be carried. This year we have a neighbor with piece of equipment that can move them much closer, but we still need some people to move them the rest of the way.

Once the dock sections are in the water Jerry can put them together.

So we're begging for all available helpers this Friday May 8th at 3:15pm. We will have gift vouchers and pizza for anyone who shows up.

The Newly designed S16G3 from Stellar Kayaks is now available at Billy Goat Boats!

Retaining many features of the second generation, the S16 G3 continues to evolve. We added .5”/1cm of beam for increased stability and a deeper keel with more concavity to improve tracking when the rudder is not deployed. These hull improvements help the S16 G3 appeal to a wider range of ability. A more slender bow and stern retain the efficiency of this hull while keeping its stability. Ergonomic rubber carry handles improve comfort when on land to and from the car, or during a portage on a trip.

Saturday May 2nd.

The rain is wrapping up and we are open for boat rentals today from 10 to 6. Walk ins are always welcome.

We've also got a large selection of boats, paddles and PFDs for sale. With spring inventory coming in regularly, there are lots of boats that are not listed on our website. None of our paddles PFDs and accesories are listed. So the best way to know what we have is to stop by.
